Imagine what you could accomplish if you only spent 10-15 minutes a day on this website jv

Even better, imagine what you could accomplish using those 10-15 minutes to do an actual government survey gathering public concerns about supermakets to tip a bucket over your Monster of the Week, WokeWorths and its Australian Values Hating CEO.

But no, neither of those paths leads to 200,000 comments. Better still to spend 15+ minutes on here telling us over dozens of posts about how terrible Woolworths is.

      Thanks for contributing.

        Imagine what you could accomplish

Whatever turns you on is none of my business…🤣

Stalking doesn't become you by the way….

So, do you actually have difficulty understanding simple sentences or is this just jv-tier "oh-no 'misunderstanding' a sentence so, whoops, I can make the comment counter tick over a few more'?

If someone says "Imagine .." to you, it's an instruction, to you. When John Lennon sung "Imagine there's no heaven, it's easy if you try", he was telling you, the listener, to imagine that.

Anyway, imagine having good faith engagement on this forum. It would absolutely crater your legacy of 100,000+ non-sequiturs, so I know it's not going to happen, but imagine that that number wasn't important to you and you spoke like someone who had a fully-developed theory of mind.

It's ridiculous, I know, but I've been reading a lot of science-fiction lately and it opens the mind up to these sorts of unrealistic hypotheticals.

@jv: As an aside, I'm loving the boomer "crying laughing because I'm not even mad" emoji use.

I'm no early-onset specialist, but I estimate we're about 70,000 comments from "look at this photo of a meme of Facebook I've emailed to each of you".

The mind is the cruellest prison of them all, jv. Keep building those walls.

              • @Crow K:

@jv: Speaking of visitors, do you think you could edit your #rentfree tag above to link to this?

I know you love to be obtuse, but I feel like if you want to burn me you might as well show people some context of what rentfree actually looks like.

              • @Crow K: Dude what is wrong with you?

                • -1

@Bdawg: I believe they fall under one of these categories.

                  REJECTED STALKER
Some stalkers have been rejected by a person they wanted a relationship with, or have just experienced a breakup. The stalker may be looking for a way to salvage their relationship, or want to remain as close to the victim as much as possible. In other instances, they’re angry and want revenge for being rejected.

                  or

                  RESENTFUL STALKER
Some people become stalkers because they feel like they’ve been mistreated in some way. These stalkers often experience feelings of paranoia or persecution, and can be self-righteous and self-pitying. Stalking the victim can be a way to get revenge for their perceived mistreatment. They feel like they have a certain amount of power over the victim as they stalk them.

JV: Complains about a 10-15min survey
also JV: Spends countless hours posting replies that contribute absolutely nothing to the conversation and generally have less than 4 words

      • +2

        At least, he's bold lol

      • +2

I think it's jv leaning in to "most of my content is non-helpful, 4 word or less remarks with random bolding" that's the icing on the cake. It turns 100,000+ posts from something that might be noteworthy into an embarrassment.

Like, mskeggs (to pick another user as an example), always makes well argued and thought out posts. They're genuine in what they say they engage in good faith. If I saw they'd had 100,000+ posts I'd think something like "wow, there's a lot of service to the community".

But Sir Shitposts-a-lot? Nah. "Look at how much garbage I've made". (golf clap)

It feels like wearing a Fitbit on your wrist, only it doesn't keep track of your steps, but how many donuts you've eaten in your life.

        • I think it's mainly the size of the number that's doing things to my brain though (most people shitpost from time to time, I'm not pretending I've never done that myself).

I guess it's the difference of feeling between seeing someone draw a picture of Garfield with stinky feet as a weird-out joke (haha random) and then discovering that person has drawn thousands and thousands of Garfield stinky feet pictures (oh no).

Thankfully you can skip questions you cant be bothered answering. 5-10 tops.

I skipped all of them. The survey is pointless in achieving anything.

Much like approximately 98% of your comments 😂

If you believed what you wrote, why do you read my comments?

          • @jv: We have similarities. Eg: we both like to stir.

But surely you are aware that the reason your comment count is so high is because often you will post single word/emoji replies often with 0 thought or contribution to many posts.

why do you read my comments?

The same reason most people read any comments on here.
I’m bored and looking for some entertainment.

Done the survey yet? Or thinking to see if you can get over 40 comments in this thread first?

can everyone answer the questions with…
    bikies

ACCC have survey 1m people and the general themes of the survey were:

    bikies

    • -2

      Found the Woolworths shill

  • +2

lol what a load of garbage

ACCC is all talk. How is an ozbargain user completing this survey going to change the supplier & supermarket relationship.

4 corners looked into it and could only find a small time cherry farmer as their star witness.

There are many other places you can shop instead of Colesworth but humans are lazy and don’t want to shop elsewhere.

The mortgage market is full of players yet the big 4 banks write about 85% if loans because consumers are lazy

    • I think the Four Corners episode mentioned Aldi has 16% market share. More people should shop at Aldi for things they can substitute.

  • +1

If they're not paying out 50 cents cashback it aint worth my 15 minutes

  • +1

I nailed the lying cheating bastards, hope you did too, thanks OP
    took less than 10 minutes

  • +2

absolutely nothing will change. If you think grocery prices will go back down to anything like they were before you're dreaming. This is the new norm. Things are going to get a lot worse, and they won't get better.

    • +1

And attitudes like yours are the reason things don't change.

      • lol no it's not mate. It's the politicians who aren't doing anything about it after being bought out by colesworth..I mean "lobbied".

Filling out a survey will do diddly squat, the ACCC will do diddly squat.

There are literal billions at stake here, you really think this will amount to anything?

  • -1

Spend 10-15 minutes for ACCC to whip Coles and Woolworths with a Wet Beach Towel.

    Nah.

  • +4

    Main concerns I see

Price gouging on top of the already inflated prices.
Taking advantage of the inflation to jack up their profits.
Dictatorship approach by the supermarkets when dealing with their suppliers and farmers.
Reduction in check out staff forcing self checkout option.
Day fillers being used during shopping hours making them higher profits and less convenient for customer.
Not so easy to understand unit price. (per kg vs per gram etc.)
Lack of customer service in the stores.
False specials by jacking up the prices up and then introducing the discounts

    • You reckon the ACCC gonna fix the customer service at Colesworth?

      • No chance, but that doesn't stop sharing my frustration here :-)

      • +2

They should have stopped them 20 years ago.

  • +5

While the ACCC is certainly a toothless entity I'd point to politicians as the main issue here. There would be millions of dollars spent lobbying by Colesworth to our biggest oxygen thieves in Canberra to keep certain barriers in place to stop other brands entering the market. Same reason there is no fast train between Melbourne & Sydney, Qantas & Virgin lobbying corrupt career politicians to keep the status quo just as it is.

  • +1

Then what they gonna do? Send a letter to coles and woolies "please stop gouging price otherwise i will send you another letter" ???

  • +1

Government need to blame someone for their poor policies & that includes ScoMo and his bunch of duds.

Blame the supermarkets in the lead up to an election. Put enough pressure on them and they will squeeze suppliers to lower prices and everyone is happy again except suppliers

  • +2

    Don't bother.

Their net profit margin is about 2.5%.

If we told ColesWorth that they are banned from making any profit from now on, for a person spending $200 a week on groceries, that new law would save you…..$5 a week.

This is a free market, you don't have to go to ColesWorth, there is Aldi, CostCo, IGA, and many other local butchers, greengrocers and fishmongers.

The reason I keep going to ColesWorth is because they are cheaper than most of the other places I outlined above, they have almost everything I want in one place and parking is generally easy at this shopping centres.

    • The reason I keep going to ColesWorth is because they are cheaper than most of the other places I outlined above

Are you a paid shill? For real though, your post really reads like one.

I laughed when you said colesworth is cheaper than Aldi. Have you ever stepped foot in an aldi?

Enjoy your $7 bag of chips.

      This is a free market,

except that it's really not. Colesworth control more than 2/3 of the groceries in Australia. Hardly seems like the "free market" working to me.

Their net profit margin is about 2.5%.

Their gross margin is over 23% at the moment.

Companies can, and do, use accounting tricks to avoid taxes. Look at IKEA for example. Colesworth is the same.

        I said most.

Enjoy your $7 bag of chips.

Thats the difference between you and me, I see $7 chips I keep walking, if I see it half price I may buy but chips is discretionary.

except that it's really not. Colesworth control more than 2/3 of the groceries in Australia. Hardly seems like the "free market" working to me.

You can still easily go to one of the other options.

Their gross margin is over 23% at the moment.

I quoted net profit and you came back with Gross profit as a retort, well done.

  • 7 minutes, answered all but 3 wordy responses. I have no expectation of change, was mainly curious as to what they were asking
    .

  • +1

49 questions then asks for an email address at the end for "your records", yeah nah.

    • +1

You don't have to supply an email to submit your response. I initially thought no, then read it as not having to supply an email and clicked submit without entering an email address.

      • There ya go! Good thing I used a burner anyway.

  • +2

I am under no illusion that it will do anything, but it's nice to at least have a say.

  • Filled it out but fairly sure ACCC won't do anything…. they can release a survey and with a yes/no question and if 99% state, yes, supermarkets are price gouging, they still won't do anything
