    • Can anyone confirm this still works? I had a friend who wanted beta and said he was unable to generate a key from alienware, if it does work.. what can I say.

  • I'm pretty sure what you are doing is against the Steam user agreement. By posting your Steam ID you're opening yourself up to someone reporting you and your entire account being banned. Be careful.

    • In what way, the invites are distributed by valve as TRADEABLE gifts, if valve didn't want people buying/selling them they wouldn't make them tradeable.

      • I think that's the point though - they are tradeable. They aren't intended for you to sell them for real currency, as that is what Valve does with the Steam store. Anyway dont' get me wrong, I'm not telling you what to do, I just wanted to say be careful just in case… Valve can be pretty merciless with their account bans.

Valve are pretty supportive for trading in any way and this seems to include Paypal. Thanks for your concern but again these invites where handed out like games by Valve and are free for trading in any shape/form (illegal activities excluded!)

As long as you are sure… this is what I read, but I may be misinterpreting:

          May I sell gift subscriptions?
Steam Gift Purchases can not be sold. Attempting to sell a gift subscription is a violation of the Steam Subscriber Agreement and may result in your account being permanently disabled. You can trade gifts using our new Steam Trading system and can read more about that here.

I think your link sounds correct (doesn't seem to be allowed). It should really be more clear though, thousands of people do real money transactions everyday for games/items etc. and there's even steam supported websites that have real money trade functions & services.

Yeah I think at best it's a really grey area and it will be up to luck whether you do or don't get away with it.

I hope I didn't come across as trying to stop you from selling your keys - I just know if my Steam account with all my games was banned I would be completely gutted. Personally I think you think should be able to sell them for what you want, but Valve isn't quite so progressive on the issue.

        • Thank you for the warning!
