Cool, I'm flying down to ACT tomorrow for a friends birthday this weekend.. dinner on Friday is sorted!

You probably need to catch a another connecting flight to Tuggeranong.

      • Tuggers is only a few mins drive from where I'm staying so this isn't going to be out of my way. We already decided if the lines are long and full of skanks we will go elsewhere.

Looking on google maps right now it's a 20 minute drive from the airport to tuggeranong. 20 minutes. Canberra people really do live in a bubble.

        • We're severely immunocompromised, it's not our fault we're a bubble boy city

I remember back in my Canberra days they were pretty slow and there was always such a long wait. You would have to sometimes order hours beforehand. I don't know how they are going to make 1500 burgers in 3 hours.

Looks far better than Hoodburger in WA and their dirty nappy offering ('swiss mushroom')

Brodburger is legendary. Easily the best in Canberra.

If it's cooked fresh, which isn't often at Capital Brewing. They cook everything in bulk and it just sits there. Don't know why I wait 20-30mins for stuff that has been sitting there so long- tepid and unappetining, particularly good the price. Disappointment more often than not after bouldering, stopped going.

Very generous freebie. These things are usually limited to 100.

I recall eating one of the tastiest burgers ever when they were serving out of a little food truck in a dodgy car park near a lake, this was like 10+ years ago haha. Good to see they are doing well!

I've already started lining up. My friend Man Incognito will also pay a visit

So how is everyone reading the article. Is it 1,500 burgers at just the Tuggeranong location, or is it 1,500 spread amongst all Brodburger locations? OP's submission reads like only at Tuggeranong, but the article is a bit vague.

Reason for asking is I am not sure a single venue could turn out 500 burgers an hour. Thats 8 (and a bit) burgers a minute. I'm not sure a single venue in the limited capacity of a food hall could even carry inventory for 1,500 units.

Would think this is 1,500 spread across all Canberra locations between 5-8PM - good if someone in the know could confirm.

    • Reading other articles and their social media I would think Tuggers only

Hats off to the cooks ripping out 1,500 in 3 hours then!

        • I suspect there will be more than that made - Canberrans are tight and this will be so oversubscribed they'll still have to make burgers for those who miss out on a freebie!

        • Also this morning on the radio they said 1500 at Tuggeranong, so yeah, good luck to everyone working there

Always essential to get a brodburger whenever I was working in Canberra. Memories of shivering in the cold outside the funky red caravan beside the lake waiting for my order to be filled :) .
Hopefully they are still as good these days …

And of course the mention in Hansard :). Apparently it was the go to late night food supply when the house was sitting late :)

"Senator HUMPHRIES—I turn to the issue of the Brodburger van at the end of Telopea
Park. I understand from other information that the NCA is still in the process of moving the
present van off its site unless it is able to create a permanent structure on the site or make
itself sufficiently temporary that it does not require approval for permanent works on the site.
Mr Rake—That is the case, Senator. We are negotiating with the owners of that business to
try to find a solution that is acceptable to all parties. But at the moment we have not yet
      reached an agreement"

  • Someone report back. I am not keen to drive all the way and then find disappointment.

We just drove past and there is a huge line up going all the way down the carpark outside.

For me, it's not worth the wait.

We decided on Kingsleys Chicken instead. It's kind of a tradition when I visit the ACT once a year.

Wasnt too bad. 20 minutes wait and they were handing more than one if you asked nicely (which I didn't take more than one)

Started lining up 40mins early and managed to get my burger within about 5mins. Having Brodburger in Tuggers is dangerous for me.
