I received an email yesterday from Stake mentioning there were technical issues the other day which caused a service disruption, so they're giving away free US trades (up to a maximum of 10) for people until the end of March. You will still be charged for the trades, but they will be reimbursed by April 2nd.
Email text below.
As you may have seen, there was an issue affecting some customers’ Wall St accounts on Stake during the latest pre-market and regular market sessions.
This was a result of a technical issue our U.S. broker partner experienced which resulted in a screen display error of cash balances. Funds themselves were unaffected, and the display issue has been resolved.
At times, technical issues from our partners can cause disruption on Stake. Regardless, we don’t take lightly the responsibility to provide an exceptional experience to our customers. As such, we would like to offer you $0 brokerage on Wall St trades for the month of March, up to a maximum of 10 trades.
How this will work
Effective today until March 31st, brokerage fees will be applied as normal for any Wall St trades that are placed. At the end of the month, you will be reimbursed the value of brokerage fees charged, up to the 10 trade maximum. These funds will land in your Wall St Buying Power by regular market open on April 2nd.If you are still experiencing any issues, please contact us here. We apologise for the inconvenience this technical issue has caused.
Got this email too. Mustn’t be targeted.
I did not see that message pop up during any trade so.
