Android WearOS Smartwatch Faceoff

I'm in the market to look out for a smartwatch. What do you guys look for when looking for a watch? Looks? Functionality?

Wondering which brand fellow OzBargainers when it comes to smart watches.

Personally I prefer my watches with the face still on.

    I'll see myself out.

I went with a Garmin, it's half way between a smart watch and fitness band. It's great for exercise and health tracking and mediocre at the smart watch stuff. My favourite feature is two weeks worth of battery.

So you need to ask if you want fitness features or smart watch features.

    • Which model did you get? Are you satisfied? Would you change your decision now if you could?

      • Went with a Venu 2, very happy with it considering I got it for $450 or so if I recall correctly.

Without going into too much detail, the watch was able to show me unexpected long term rises in my resting heart rate. I had no real other symptoms at the time. I was able to go to the doctors and get this under control a lot earlier than it would normally take me.

Currently using about 10% charge per day which is about 20% worse than when I got it. If it got stolen today I would buy the newer model in a heartbeat but probably wait until a deal comes up. I don't really use any of the smart watch features besides notifications to be honest, maybe I could get away with a cheaper version.

        • Thanks for your time replying.

I really want the reliable health monitoring tech but not the "smart" features. It's been hard to distinguish devices that really focus on that. Except for fitbit, but they want subscriptions for their app so they can go fk themselves. Garmin does seem to make attractive offerings.

Probably just keep waiting for the right deal.
