If you paid via paypal I suggest you raise a dispute with them

  • Have you acknowledged that you received it?

    • yeah it was signed by me

Before you go in all guns blazing with Paypal, disputing receiving it,ACCC, simply ask the seller via eBay messaging. They may just refund you there.

    • yup they offered a $10 refund.. i think i'll just do with that

How much did you pay?? If the item's worth $35, I'd expect refund of $35…or demand that they send you the actual item. Otherwise take it up with ACCC.

        • paid $20 for it. hmm im not sure..

      • I reckon that's a good offer. I mean at the end of the day for this product, it doesn't matter if it's official or not as long as you are happy. If you do go down the fake route, I think you'd have to send it back to get a refund.

Might be…I don't know all the facts. It's pretty slack for the buyer though cos if they paid $35, got sent a $2 item (being chinese brand candy), and then offered $10 refund, that's not right.

If it is just a bag of candy, probably only cost you couple of bucks to send back.

        • yeah.. but the thing is the listing doesnt specifically state IRON GYM in the description, apart from the title. I thgink the seller just wants to trick people.. and they raised the price

Sorry, but has the listing changed? The OP says that they received CANDY in place of the exercise equipment they were expecting, genuine or otherwise. The candy doesn't even prentend to be fake exercise equipment.

How is a $10 refund for the $20 they paid a good offer?

  • Huh don't understand why it came it as candy?!?! Go dispute!

    • you wanted fitness equipment and they sent you candy? that ain't gonna work for ya.

  • The seller has deliberately set out to scam you - going so far as to send "something" so that they have proof of shipping.

I hope you've reported them and given them their well-deserved feedback?

  • I been set fake iphone before not a lot ACCC and do as they are not Aus company.

  • I think the OP is using the term candy to mean "item". Some chinese branded gym item. That's my read on it though.

  • Try econsumer if all else fails, but lodge a Paypal dispute ASAP as they have a limited window for claims (1 month I think)
