VoIP Provider with Legit Numbers, Phone App and 1300 Number

Hi all,

Looking for recommendations on a VOIP provider who can provide a low-cost 1300 number as well as a "landline" number that looks legit along with ideally a VOIP Phone App.

I like Zoom Phone, but they have the annoying 03 70xx numbers which have a bad wrap in most cases, so people don't answer calls from them at the first instance.

At the moment it's just a small requirement as my side hustle has taken off a bit and not wanting to have my mobile listed as the primary number.

Just thinking as I type this, I guess another option is to get a 1300 number through a provider and then get another cheap/unlimited call + text SIM that I can use for the 1300 calls to be directed to. Since I have an e-sim currently for my primary number, I can insert a physical SIM.

Then that gives me control over Voicemail and do not disturb times.

Just a thought, others may have been through other circumstances and have done other solutions. Ideally, as the OzB way, looking for the cheapest but reliable solution. I am happy to spend extra, but don't want to spend over the top.

Cheers!

If your "legit" side hustle relies on cold calling people with the pretence of a "legit" phone number, you may want to reconsider the business model

    • It won’t be cold calling people. I’ll be calling back enquiries but 95% of 03 70xx numbers are scams and/dodgy because it me so easy in zoom phone to pickup and drop numbers. So my side hustle is legit.

I’ll have a look on whirlpool, cheers.

Can pay for a proper landline number.

  • Had a business with a voip number and it worked fine, calls connected, but often the calls were very faint and crackly, their staff were pressing the phones right up against their ears struggling to hear what was being said. Could have to do with the old wireless phones they were using though.

  • Feel free to contact me. We can provide exactly what you need. I have recently swapped a couple of clients from Zoom as they were having issues, so its not the best option.

There are several providers out there, I am one of many.
