Anyone Tried to Remove Control Load Their Meter?

Since the boom of energy price as well as control load, it make more sense to remove the CL and maybe install a water heater timer to only heat during the day as I have solar panel. Did anyone done this kind of job at home?

    I got the sparkie to do this last year. Cost a few hundred as it needed a 20a timer as well, I think $350 all up. I got him to do a couple of other minor things too, so that is the approx breakdown.

      Thanks, good to know its doable, so the timer is installed near the meter that you can reprogram later on if you want to?

        Yes, mine’s actually mounted in the meter box, although I suppose there is no reason for that except it was a weatherproof spot.
