This monitor is back with a decent deal. I snagged this one to upgrade from my 21" Dell as I do WFH and casually game, so would be a pretty nice upgrade!

Was popular at $262.80 3 months ago though not the cheapest it has been which was $249 2 years ago

      • 4K is not always better.

4K on 27inches can make text too small and once you increase text size it can look odd.

I personally think you need 32+ inches before 4K becomes practical.

I’m not even sure how a PS4 will look on a 4K monitor or even QHD, if the source is only 1080P

I know native resolution can be too small for some, but don't forget you can use HiDPI modes (which @Greenback16 already would be because of their Macbook Air.)

You either get a super-crispy monitor, or you get the extra real-estate of native 4k - if they want the best experience, I'd say 4k wins every time.

If they want to save money, 1440p is still pretty great.

Yeah, you're right, this would be terrible - it would probably look better on the 4k because 1080 goes into 2160 cleanly, but not into 1440, so output would be blurry on the cheaper monitor.

          • @Droz: Good points.

My only experience with a 4K 27inch monitor was that it wasn't great with my PC. Everything was crisp, just too small lol

Swapped it to QHD 27" and was much happier.

            4K on 32inch is purrrrrrfect.

          • @Droz: Thanks for your thoughts guys! Might just go for USB C for convenience and future-proofing

  • Dock deal to go with this?

  • I placed an order earlier today but didn't see an ETA. Anyone had prior experience purchasing from Dell. Does it stretch into weeks?

    • Check your order.

      Mine says delivery eta Friday.

      • I didn't get an ETA either.

But Dell are usually very good with stock (they don't let you order if no stock).

      • Thanks. I actually received a shipping notification this morning.

        • Mine were delivered today.

@hothed: Mine got delivered yesterday. Set it up today and the step up from FHD monitor is awesome.

Thanks OP. Purchased one with my child's edu.au address to upgrade our trusty 15 year old Dell 16:10 IPS screen.

Thank OP. I really appreciate you attention to detail and the step-by-step guide for the Student Purchase Program.

  • Currently rocking the USB c version of this monitor, paired to my work laptop - Dell Latitude 5420. Does anyone know if I can use this monitor (WITHOUT A DOCK) and plug in via HDMI to get a dual monitor setup directly plugged into my laptop without a dock? Have tried searching for answers online to no avail. Would really appreciate any advice!

    • If your laptop can support it, yes. If it can't - nope. But the dock wouldn't help in that case either, unless it was a dock with DisplayLink.

  • I would suggest getting DP to USB-C cable which is much better than the HDMI version. Have been using that with my gaming laptop, samsung phones, and tablet!

  • Seems alright but surprised it's so popular when higher refresh rates are available for same price https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/833470

    • A better speced option for sure! Better refresh rate is always pleasent on the eyes for systems that can run it, and amazing for gaming. Though if use is primarily office/WFH, this DELL is a great option, especially since it's $60 cheaper (and still in stock 😋).

      • Yeah definitely more suitable for office work this monitor and not everyone needs the high refresh rate, was just wondering if this has more USB ports etc that would make it more ideal

  • how are the speakers? bad?

    • +1

They are fine for basic use.
But I wouldn't want to watch a movie or enjoy music on them

  • Only does 60fps with the included hdmi cable :/

  • I bought this monitor, but it only works at 60hz. Does anyone know how to set it to 75hz?

  • What colour/picture settings does everyone recommend?

  • Anyone found a dock?
