Over the last few weeks I've spent way too long trying to find a deal on a well rated, not too expensive waterproof/water resistant laptop bag for commuting to and from work.

All the ones I found that seem suitable are either hundreds of dollars or under $50 with mixed reviews, but don't have things I want, eg water resistance, chest strap or nice, wide and padded shoulder straps.

Stumbled upon this one after finding it's bigger 36L brother on this video and this 22L one looks good value for $59! Even comes with a rain cover and some travel related accessories (ie JumpKit, packing cube and liquids pouch)!

Couldn't find many other retailers selling it at all, yet alone at this price.

Ordered on Mon 20th, was called it was ready for pick up Fri 23rd and picked up today…looks good quality!

Disclaimer: Not sure how much stock they have now, it's changed to "Awaiting Stock".

Modern travelers searching for an attractive, sleek, protective, and well-made backpack to transport their 13" laptop, 10" tablet, clothing, and accessories will appreciate the gray Lowepro HighLine BP 300 AW 22L Backpack. The pack features a dedicated CradleFit compartment to suspend and protect an up to 13" laptop. Included with the BP300 is a removable JumpKit bag for a tablet, smartphone, earbuds, pens, and other small items. The main compartment has a lid that unzips on three sides for easy access, with room for the included clothing cube. Underneath the lid is a zippered clear-mesh pocket. An exterior front zip pocket stores the included airline-approved liquids pouch and accessory work station.

Carry your BP 300 Backpack by the padded top handle, or wear with the adjustable, padded shoulder harness. The shoulder straps have a chest connector for added stability and comfort. Also for stability and comfort is a slim waist strap and an EVA-molded, breathable back panel. The same material is also used on the shoulder straps. Side compression straps help keep loads tight and secure. Additional gear is easily attached to the daisy chain attachment points on the front of the pack. In the event of inclement weather, simply deploy the built-in all weather cover. Added water and abrasion-resistance comes from the 420D nylon Oxford and Cordura construction. Last, but not least, is the tall stretch pocket for a water bottle or travel umbrella.

Durable and weatherproof materials keep gear safe from the elements. A built-in All Weather AW Cover adds an extra and optional layer of protection. It is constructed with heat-sealed seams and covers the entire pack to safeguard from rain, snow, dust, and sand.

Includes a clothing packing cube, airline-regulation-sized liquids pouch, plus Lowepro's exclusive and removable JumpKit device and accessory work station.

Keep your tablet, smartphone, earbuds, pens, and other small go-to items in the JumpKit, and remove to use them while your pack is stashed away.

Includes dedicated CradleFit laptop compartment to suspend and protect a device up to 13".

Get all-day comfort as you travel from location to location with the ActivZone harness system. It delivers targeted support where you need it most and includes an EVA-molded, breathable back panel and shoulder straps.

Two sets of lock-compatible YKK zippers help keep your gear secure and free from roving hands as you move from airport to destination. Hand-friendly Duraflex zipper pulls provide smooth operation.

Thoughtful organization is built into the front pocket for easy access to travel essentials.

Tall stretch-mesh side pocket for a water bottle or travel umbrella.

Sturdy outer webbing straps help tighten the pack and reduce the bulk, which is essential when meeting carry-on requirements or traveling in crowded conditions.

Other than the obnoxious lowepro logo that stands out like a sore thumb, this is looks to be a fantastic buy. Good soize for an EDC type bag. I especially liked how they had included a cube for extra space organisation in main compartment. Well done.

It's only about an inch high and 2 inches wide, could definitely cover it with something if desired.

Nothing like the Thule or North Face ones I've seen!

I think the bigger size would be a good carry on for flights.

      • Yeah I have a stack of weatherproof ‘surprised pickachu’ stickers I got for free (other than selling out one of my emails…) a while ago via a deal here. Id just put one of those on.

Definitely wanna hide that lowepro logo. Nothing says "I have expensive camera equipment in this bag" more than lowepro does… which is ironic considering this one isn’t a camera bag.

    • Which brand is logoless then? I have a few lowepro photography bags, I don't see their logos as a sore thumb at all. If you want to see logos, then check Diesel, Reebok, Adidas, Fila etc just to name a few.

I suppose I should have spelt it out - Wasn’t about logo or no logo it’s about it saying Lowepro, which generally can be a good bet for thieves there’s something decent to steal inside as opposed to. An adidas or Nike whatever bag.

great find/buy, but afaik it’s been discontinued, so wouldn’t expect them to receive any more stock

I've had one for years. Great bag, my go to cabin bag as its the max allowable size.

Will it fit a 16" laptop?

    • +1

Looks like 13 is the max size

      • Side entry laptop design is asking for trouble.

  • You can also get a $10-off code by signing up to their newsletter, applicable if you're spending over $100.

    • Have you received the $10 discount code? I signed up a week ago and didn't receive a code, I followed up with them and they did eventually get back to me they said i would get it via email within 24-48 hours. Still waiting, and it hasn't gone to the spam folder either.

Just spoke to their support as I stuffed up the address during order.
They said no more stock and will cancel my order.

Good job to whoever got the deal, it's a cracker.

Cheers for advising so we don't waste time putting in an order.

I also hope those who do get the bag enjoy it. Lowepro make some nice bags… just hide that bloody logo!

About 15yrs ago, I nabbed a great deal on a lowepro primus minimus (AU$50 incl delivery from MyMemory… i.e. shipped from the UK) which was my staple travel backpack for a while. But these days, I don't lug camera gear around like I use to so the minimus, with about 40% of the storage space dedicated to camera compartments, isn't suitable for my uses. Waist straps also too big.

Been looking for a replacement and was considering ordering this highline but 22L, whilst good for maximising carry on, is too big for a daypack and too small for a single carry on on only option (for me at least). After much deliberation, I'm doubting that I'll do much single bag travel so a smaller ~16L carry on will suit me better. And if that's the case, I should use one of my many old Kathmandu Contiga backpacks in the cupboard (old bags I use to use for work). Perfect day pack/carry on size for me, and enough room for my needs.

  • Damn I went the $30 one from decathlon. It's pretty good tbh but this looks nicer.
