  • Good tracks, however the (optional ) mounting kit doesn't work on Rhino or Yakima roof racks.

wow, these are cheaper then my maxtrax, i should have gotten these instead.

I have owned both Maxtrax and X-bull, the quality of plastic in X-bull is not as good, it is more brittle. Mine have broken and been thrown away. Still for this price, it is worth having a pair (or two) if you don't 4-wheeling too frequently.

      • a pair like this or similar got me out of a pickle last year, drove onto a road with a thin muddy film. without these tracks i would have been hosed. I used them to propel myself backwards 3 or 4 times out of the goo.. good times.

      • Maxtrax are the best by a decent margin, but the new X-Bull Gen3's (newer version of the above) are actually the best of the cheapies. I've had a pair now for 2 years and its been used 4 times (once just to trash them to see if they are any good) and they are honestly great.

  • Will these last as long as maxtrax or are they are one time use

    • They're definitely not as sturdy as maxtrax, but they are a lot cheaper. I don't think x-bull would support as much weight on rocky or uneven ground, and they're a bit shorter.
However, I've used them on a sandy track to recover a ute, and on muddy/grassy grownd to recover an ambulance and they worked well both times. They also cleaned up and packed away with only minor damage.

    • They will last for ages…. As long as you don’t leave them mounted on your car all the time. We use these on our 4wd’s, and they have been abused. Have used them as ramps as well with no issues.

This. Having any plastic gear mounted on the racks is great for accessibility and keeping dirt away from the interior, and maybe a good pose too, but it's a horrendous toll leaving it to bake in the sun. They should be kept inside whenever they aren't expected to be used.

        • You have to mount them where they are visible, otherwise no one will know you have them.

    • Don't get bogged

Why downvote you muppets? He's not wrong, these snap way too easily unless you're on flat ground.

  • 10 ton load capacity on flat ground

Ummm, if you are on flat ground you probably don't need these

  • Is it a good idea to carry 4 of them with you for fully bogged situations, or would 2 be enough in most scenarios with the addition of a shovel? Used my eBay Plus $5 so got them for $53, just not sure if I should get up another pair.

    • 2 for most cases

  • Anyone using these just to have a bit more room when working under the car? Wondering if it's worth it at the 6cm claimed height.

wtf… just get a bottle jack and stands like a normal person. Cheaper too.

  • I could use this when I take my 2006 Camry to go off-road. It's probably too long for my boot but I could mount 4 of these on my roof rack.

Buy one for each of your driven wheels, cut into smaller chunks and cabletie across the tyre. Don't forget to take a snatch strap so you can help recover Nissan Patrols along the way
