Help Me Find Actual Spicy Crisp Chips

Hi everyone, chilli addict here.

Are there actual spicy crispy chips out there that’s easily accessible to buy like Coles and Safeway and can burn your gums (it feels good)? All their chilli flavored chips are weak.

Thanks

Seen them once at Coles, but Buldak Chips are quite spicy.

  • Costco. Kettle Chilli chips.

They are really good but not very spicy like OP wants.

      Unfortunately, Kettle chips are weak.

try this, its good, like a spicy twistee

when it falls below 2.5 i stock up

    • I just bought it.

Sorry but that’s worse than Kettle chilli chips. 0 spices.

      1/10

  • Kettle Chilli chips definitely quite spicy

However much like housing I find myself priced out of this essential good.

The original from the 90's/early 2000's were the best as they were just chili powder. They ruined them by switching to that paprika mix stuff. I don't find the current ones very hot at all and they are much oilier than they used to be too.

I don't eat them often and the last time I had them was probably 7-8 months ago, but they seem to be hit and miss. Some bags were really plain but other bags had a decent amount of flavour in them so maybe it depends on the batch and their cooking process isn't consistent? I do agree that they've been watered down a lot sadly.

Have some Samyang chicken hot sauce as a dip.

Buy chilli powder and add them to chips.

I will try that and @Boioioioi’s suggestion.

Thanks everyone but it doesn’t look like it will be easy to find. I have to go to IGA and Coles/Safeway that have international aisle section in my free time instead of going to my local one.

Kettle chips are not what they used to be. Now they taste more tomatoey than chilli to be honest.

I buy the kettle avocado oil chips in plain salt, they taste good. Then I add chilli powder, about 1 - 2 teaspoons per bag and shake it up. Delicious!

I enjoy sri lankan chilli powder from the sri lankan shop, you could use any but flavors slightly vary.

These ones are good https://chilliseedbank.com.au/world-s-hottest-corn-chips. I took them to a morning tea at work and they got devoured, some people had sweat pouring off them.

Looks delicious but I prefer to pick it up straight from shop. Just don’t have the patience to wait.

Why don’t supermarkets stock those chilli chips like in that website? Is it because of the risk of kids buying them and fear of being held liable for it if something goes wrong?

I got a pack of them from a local Cignall store.

Because the greed of the supermarkets means that to sell it at the same price that they're selling means the supermarket gets a big cut.

Normally when things get added to the supply chain, costs double

  • Samyang Ramen ala Sun Brothers. Crush N Shake.

Are there actual spicy crispy chips out there

  • Harris Farm has the Burts Lime and Reaper Chilli which are often on sale for $3.50 - have a decent kick to them

    • Not spicy like what OP wants

  • Takis Fuego

Takis. It's artificial American crap and even looks toxic.
