Replacement Filter for 18V Ozito Hand Vacuum PXHVS-250 i/n 6290567

Does anyone know where I can find replacement filters for this vacuum? The filter assembly twists apart and reveals a little fabric cone.
I've hosed the filter with water a few times but eventually I'll need a new filter, I'm sure this filter is common with other random vacuums made in china, therefore one should be able to find it online?
Thanks!!

  • interesting, looks like in the manual and website it just says below (but doesnt even go into whats classed as an available spare part).
It has 5 year warranty - maybe you're better off just claiming under warranty.

Spare parts can be ordered from the Special Orders
Desk at your local Bunnings Warehouse.

If it helps, I have one of these vacuums that is about 7 or 8 years old now. I have cleaned that little filter a bunch of times with water, high speed air etc, and it is still perfectly good. For a while there I was using the vac as part of a DIY stick vac with pipe and motorised head, so I was emptying it multiple times a week, and always at least blew the dust out.

As long as you are somewhat careful when cleaning it, I would not expect to have to replace it ever.

It is worth cleaning out the foam filters in the main vacuum body, which requires taking it apart. Mine was at least 5 years old when I did that, and it really improved airflow. Also it helped to oil the motor bearings at the same time.

    • Thanks for sharing your thoughts, it's only been a year so looks like it will be good for a while still. I just like replacing air filters in everything - car, aircon, vacuums, etc. I hate dust!!

Yeah I am much the same. But this is a synthetic fiber fabric, so won't degrade from washing. And it's thick enough a little surface wear from handling is no problem.

I just remove it, hold it by one end and shake it out each time I empty the vacuum (I do this over my wheelie bin). And if/when enough dust has built up in the fabric, blow it out with an Ozito workshop blower or leaf blower. That gets most of the dust out easily.

Every now and then I hand wash it in he sink with some dish shop and rinse it well, then leave it somewhere to dry.

  • I have the newer version vacuum and found the Makita filters fit with a bit of a trim down. Looking at the pics of your vacuum, the filter in yours looks to be the same as the one in mine.

What I did was press the filter in the gauze holder, marked it with a texta type marker, took it out and trimmed it with scissors. Not a perfect fit but it works just fine.

The filter is only $2 so might be worth you checking out. https://www.google.com/search?q=443060-3+makita&oq=443060-3+…
