During my research for my 2013 SKI trip I have come across this deal - Perth to Tokyo via Singapore Return from AU$1016. I also selected one leg to be on A380-330, this looks like a good price to me. Not sure about the promotion period and time but It looks like the deal is on for the whole Feb and March. I am not able to find anything on the web for this special, if you have let me know :) It was 1400+ when I last looked on their website 2 weeks ago.

Well it sounds like you have got a good deal too.
Just tried scoot with the same month and dates, the cheapest I can get is 780 ex Sydney return tokyo, it would be about the same price after adding on the connecting flights per-syd
True. Also, Air Asia has some OK prices now (Perth etc - Tokyo). But the price difference is a few hundred dollars, and the quality difference is large!
Food is great in Singapore. But not good on Scoot - which uses repainted SA jets.I'm organising my trip for this time next year to Ise Grand Shrine (Ise-Jingu) for the festival to celebrate the construction of an identical wooden Shrine rebuilt beside the old Shrine. Happens every 20 years for last 1250 years!! A favourite place for me. Unusual, historic, and very Japanese. Don't expect to see many Aussies there!
Like many Japanese do, I prefer the Spring (Cherry & other blossoms) and Autumn (amazing leaf colours). Summer is too hot & humid in many areas, and Winter too cold for me North of Okinawa. I don't ski, and watching guys surfing from a beach covered in snow is just weird for a Queenslander!
I love Hokkaido. Sitting in a mountain rotenburo (natural hot pool about 40C) surrounded by snow as a deer walks past the waterfall - a sublime experience.
Happy times in the snow!! (I'm jealous!)Scoot has specials to counter Air Asia sale from today…
au$181 SIN-Tokyo au$228 Tokyo-SIN - not fantastic as you have to get to Singapore first

Just paid $1600 on Qantas :(
Awwww that would suck!
Thats pretty good.
I payed $1067 on Singapore airlines and I'm going in one weeks time.
Not a bad deal on a good airline. But have a $99 flight to Singapore soon, & just returned on $78 each way with Singapore Air's discount arm Scoot. They also fly to Tokyo.
I'll wait off for the regular $400 or so return Gold Coast to Japan with Jetstar. Jetstar promoted $99 flights back from Japan recently. Not as comfy, and no food, but gives me more spending money while I am there & can stay longer.
