      Both are just reseller of carrier sims. I used Airarlo in Japan and TK in Uk and France. Both good with Airarlo slightly better because everything you can manage in app. Do note some option is available in TK but not Airarlo, in particular SIM/eSIM with calls.

      Also if you are going to UK/Europe, expect a shock on speed and service of local networks. Its just…..jumk! We are so lucky in Australia (as long as you have some good 4G and 5G).

    Hi! Just checking. I'm about to purchase the 365 day China, Hong Kong & Macau eSIM 45GB | Data-Only. I'll arrive in China on Tuesday, so should I activate when I arrive in the country (is that possible with the firewall?) or should I activate the day before my trip in Australia (i.e. at the airport?).       You can install the eSIM before your trip to China (the plan will start right away) - but adding it in China should be no problem as well as long as you have Wi-Fi.

        S22+, Oppo Find X3 Pro and Huawei P30 Pro (although that one may be replaced by then).

        I can see other sites say S22 will be fine, but not sure about the others. I think I read about phones needing to be 'certified' to work on their network?

      No our Japan SIM is 4G high speed up to the data allowance, once the data allowance is reached it is unlimited at 128kbps.

      You can add the eSIM in Australia but note since this is a local eSIM, it may say "failed to activate" which is normal. It will work once you land in Japan.

      eSIM saver must connect to supported network within 30 days "to activate" it.

      You cannot activate in Australia.

      Please purchase the non saver eSIM if your trip is beyond 30 days from date of order.

      China eSIM's provider is CHT (Chunghwa Telecom - Taiwanese Operator) - the network operator is China Unicom and Telecom.

      The "New" China eSIM's provider is 3HK - the network operator is China Telecom.

    For anyone wondering there’s no speed throttling on the Docomo IIJ esims. Used one for 3 weeks in Japan and maxed out speeds most of the the time in suburban areas. Still pretty good even in the mountains / remote areas. Don't recall losing coverage at all other than in Shinkansen tunnels.

    The only annoyance is you can't check your data usage on the portal it doesn't work for IIJ sims so you have to email support.

        For example, if I bought the eSim today (19 February), I have to activate and use it by 20 March OR can I activate the eSim before 20 March and then have another 30 days before it expires?

          But as I understand it, it's not possible to activate in Australia. You have to be in the destination to activate. So it won't work for you.

            @madpig83: Correct, the QR code will be "valid" for 30 days so you have to add and first use the eSIM in the supported country (not Australia).

            You will then have 30 days of service from first use.
