I think this was $19 around Christmas at eb games for eBay plus members. $29 minus $10 voucher = $19.
Still waiting for the switch version to go down in price.
My Switch bubble burst a fair few years ago, but I still picked this one up in the hopes it would pull me back in. It did not.
It's playable and enjoyable even, but it's absolute garbage compared to Series / PS5 versions. Visually it's trash. I fired up Vice City's PC version's port onto Wii U the other day again and it looks so much nicer on that tablet with the classic style. The modern stuff looks fine on the real consoles, I'm not a massive hater of this re-release (even 1000GS'd 3 and VC, and platinum'd VC again), but it looks (profanity) baaaaad on Switch. 30 FPS is fine, longer load times is fine, but holy shit the visuals are really (profanity) muddy, pretty sure I clocked Vice on there but only got halfway through SA before bailing on it (mind you I've played them all to death a million (profanity) times, had I never touched them I probably wouldn't have). Didn't get too far into 3 either from memory.
Switch is really shonky is the long and short. Unless it has a surprisingly decent upgrade for the Switch 2, I wouldn't touch this version unless you had no other option. Even on the Xbox One, which is pretty (profanity) dogshit to play on too, it at least has a much steadier frame rate.

I don't mean to be THAT guy, but shouldn't you instead be having a go at the developers who made the port? The developers are the ones who have made a shonky port.
To be fair, I meant the switch port rather than console.
Though that being said, it is woeeeefully outdated. Yes, much like the wii u, you can make some beautiful games, but also like the wii u, it's a lot harder to scale a gen or two newer games without a shitload of compromise.
It was just for the portability…I still got copies of them on my PS2. 😃
Are the Series/PS5 versions of this actually any better/any good? Last I saw they were just trash ports of the mobile versions with all sorts of basic issues, so I noped out.
They are definitely better these days, but still bad ports of the original games. Serviceable enough way to experience them, but you are still better off just emulating the originals.

I think they're just preempting the usual comments to make a funny; and so they don't have to put up with the usual comments.
I saw BigW having PS5 GTA5 for $29. Strangly Amazon haven't price matched it yet.
Having played San Andreas remastered while on game pass, I still recommend getting the original trilogy on PS2 and emulate on a powerful phone or PC. Currently playing my PS2 copy on android phone and loving it. Save states on emulation provides a bit of a safety net if you stuff up a long mission similar to checkpoints on remastered.

The Definitive Edition is overwhelmingly considered garbage, especially by the speedrunning community, and not even worth $5. Rockstar need to bring back the original games for sale.
