  • I managed to get an ongoing deal for AU$1/wk a few years ago. V much enjoying the subscription. Never saw that offer again. Over the last 6 months or so they’ve constantly been trying to upsell in-app which is truly annoying…

  • Is there an inbuilt dark mode for the NYT?

    • In the apps, yes. Not on the website.

Just read in the NYTimes Donald Trump has banned whole blocks of cheese. He want to make America grate again.

    Overpriced propaganda.

  • I did this deal a year ago and when it lapsed they renewed it at the same $2/month for another year.

Also may be worth checking with your local library - mine offers free access to the NYT and loads of other newspapers and magazines through the Pressreader app.

This is my preferred source for fake news.

You actively look for sources of fake news? That explains a lot…

Actually it makes sense, read widely, especially if you feel the need to express your opinions frequently.

If you read both the progressive and conservatives press plus select commentary again left and right say on X you quickly realise the world is not how it seems.

The mainstream narrative on an event is often, very often, completely contrary to what actually happened.

Not a deal, cannot be used to line a bird cage.

Do I care for their editorial line? No, it's not my cup of tea.

Is this a good deal based on the RRP? Absolutely.

Quite an insight into the state of the journalism industry given how deep they're having to slash prices just to stay afloat…

These days people left or right actually PAY to be fed lies. Goebbels' dream come true.

  • Good this can be cancelled online. When I subscribed to LA Times I had to phone to unsubscribe.
