I was after a new fitness tracker and saw that Harvey Norman had this deal. Epix Watch is $400 off and you get another model thats normally $499 for free as well. I ended up going for this. They has another one that I was strongly considering, but I personally found more value in this.
Garmin Epix 2 Watch $1298 (Was $1698) + Bonus Garmin Vivoactive 5 (Normally $499) + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ Harvey Norman

 - Hahahah
 - Great story.

 - Depends, do you have high blood pressure?

 - This isn't really a deal. - Garmin Epix 2 Watch $1298 (Was 1698) - Was $847 through Amazon in Dec 2023 and likely now. - Garmin Vivoactive 5 - Was about $430 as well recently. - So more or less the same price when both are individually on sale by themselves. Plus, it's Harvey Norman.
 - Or $849 (White colour) at Rebel Sport - https://www.rebelsport.com.au/p/epix-gen-2-carrera-white-tit… - Edit - actually OOS at Rebel, but on back order at JB - https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/garmin-epix-gen-2-sports-…
 - Unless there's a model variation I can't see, the Epix 2 can be had for $850 from Amazon and Rebel. If you don't really want the extra watch this might be a better choice.
 - Great watch

 - I mean $1300 for a watch that will be redundant in a few years doesn't really seem like a deal. What is a nice regular watch that costs $1300? - How about applying the same logic to a phone or a laptop or any other tech item? This isn’t really just a watch. It’s more like a mini computer that probably will help you stay fit or get better if used properly. - I am sure it will still work fine just as a “watch” for many years. - Garmin Fenix/ Epic can be an overkill for most/ general needs but it has its place if you are an athlete or someone taking their fitness really seriously. - People don't realise Garmins aren't like an apple/pixel/galaxy watch. It'll serve you many more years and the battery is usually a week minimum, rather than a day with the former.

 - A mate replaced his 8 year old Fenix recently - the battery charging pins on the back of the watch were worn down and he was having trouble charging it. He does triathlons and is definitely hard on his gear. - Garmin fitness watches are just that. They're always fit for purpose (bad pun intended), and I can certainly vouch for their capability.

 - Negging this not only cause it's hardly normal but it's not even a deal. You can buy each individually for around the same total price. - Typical HN tactic to get typical HN customers.
 - Is there any place where I can try on these Garmin watches before making a purchase?
Also which smartwatch would you guys suggest for primarily tracking fitness activities and being waterproof up to 5 meters? - Go to jbhifi and ask to try them on. I did this with the Fenix 5/s/x a few years ago and ended up getting it online - Glad I did because the 5X looked monstrous on my wrist
 - Last JB I went to had a bunch of them hanging of the shelf near the watch cabinet. You could try them on for size
