This is more expensive than optus…
With optus prepaid esim, you can get 10G data for $20

Apparently they also charge you $5/day roaming fee. Depending on your itinerary and length of trip it could cost you a fortune. This is also stated on their official roaming page

      • +4

No. $5 a day is for postpaid. For prepaid is $20 for 10G https://www.optus.com.au/prepaid/plans/add-ons

You also get to keep using your existing number…

          • @jv: Yes, with Tripsim you get to keep your existing number, you are right! No need to fiddle with your primary SIM card as it can live together with your eSIM.

        • Seems it's only 14 days and quite limited in terms of countries.

          Expiry: 14 days

          Included destinations
Mainland China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, UK and USA

    • Only in a few places:

Mainland China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, UK and USA

      • Thank for keeping everyone honest! 😊 We do not have that limitation in terms of destinations. Our bundle includes 59 destinations vs 10 with your local telco, seems like a bargain.

  • Used these guys last trip to EU, worked well no issues. I like this new feature of coverage at stopover airports as I had to use wifi last time

    • Thanks for your comment! It's our mission to keep our passengers connected. 😊 Plus, with the Stopover bundle you are covered if you have a longer layover.

    Not true.

    Flexiroam also allows data sharing.

They have 70% off sales on their global esims often…
Their local esims when you are visiting just one country are very reasonably priced.

When you register, they also give you a code for about 20-30% off your first purchase.

    • isnt OP's deal better ? not gonna pay $269 for 10GB

      • I think i paid around $20-25 for 10Gb with Flexiroam.
I got one of the local plans…

        • You could have paid AU$24.99 for the same with Tripsim instead of US$25 with Flexiroam. 🙄

          • @tripsim: No, those prices were in NZD.

I also got a free eSim and data because I have a latitude 28 degrees card, and could share the data with my wife across the two phones.

@jv: Not according to their Terms and conditions: https://www.flexiroam.com/terms-and-conditions/

              • @tripsim:

Not according to their Terms and conditions

Yes, I get a free Sim and data for 2 weeks, and I could share the data with the eSim my wife had.

                • @jv: We were referring to charging in NZD. We understand you have a personal preference for Flexiroam. You can find us on tripsim.com.au if that doesn't work 😊

No, I just go with the best deal at the time…

                    Free wins…

      • not gonna pay $269 for 10GB

        10GB UK showing as $16…

You'll likely get a 20-30% off voucher sent to you when you first register…

        • We offer a full Europe bundle including 35 countries (and the UK) for AU$24.99 vs what you just mentioned which would come at AU$24.80 (since they have USD pricing). To us it looks like you'd get more with Tripsim for nearly the same price.

          • @tripsim:

We offer a full Europe bundle including 35 countries (and the UK) for AU$24.99

Which is about $10 more if you just need a UK eSim.

            • @jv: We are promoting a Stopover data bundle, not a UK-only eSIM. A stopover is a flight with one stop in between two destinations. Hope this clarifies.

    • We compare ourselves with other operators in Australia, we are an Australian company based in Sydney. Also, our eSIMs are priced in AUD not USD. Flexiroam only sells in USD as clearly stated in their terms and conditions If you are happy to pay in USD then we won't stop you 😊

  • Forgive the n00b question. Let's say I was going to a number of countries for a few days each; for example Czchia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France. Is a separate bundle needed for each country, or does it transfer seamlessly, or I select a new local carrier and off you go….?

    • Hi @Astronaut Joe and thanks for your question.

The Stopover bundle covers all of these countries, there is no need to purchase a separate eSIM for each destination. One eSIM to rule them all 😊

      • Could I ask a couple of questions before I purchase?

        1. Is it possible to activate before leaving Australia?

        2. Presume there is no issue buying 2 using the discount code (one for me and one for my son to use at the same time on an upcoming trip) if purchased at the same time?

        3. I’m travelling to France, Ireland and a stop over in Dubai (less than 30 days). Presume if I purchase the 20GB option it will work across all these destinations?

        4. Does the eSIM use any one particular carrier in Ireland? Reason I ask is mobile coverage can be very poor unless using one of the main carriers such as Eir.

        • Hi there, of course, ask away 😊

          1. You can install your eSIM while you are in Australia. Our eSIMs only activate abroad, and the only thing you need to make sure is that you have data roaming set to ON for your Tripsim, whilst it should remain OFF for your primary SIM card.

          2. We have no limitation on how many eSIMs you want to purchase with our discount.

          3. Yes, you are covered for all the destinations you have mentioned.

          4. We use 2 carriers in Ireland: Vodafone and 3(Three Hutchinson). You can manually switch to one or the other depending on your connection.

Hope this helps, and enjoy your trip!

          • @tripsim: Thanks so much! Have purchased 2 of your plans!

            • @gidxg03: Amazing! 😊

  • I just tried purchasing the Europe+ 10GB sim, however the 'OZBARGAIN' code isn't valid. Has it expired?

    • I think the promo code is only valid for stopover bundle. Maybe @tripsim can extend it to allow other products?

  • Does this cover Hawaii?
And if you go over the data limit does it just stop access or will there be additional charges?
