      No one with that attitude

Sounds like a great way to lose your qualifying government email address

  • -8

Final prices in the description please

    • +5

The 20% off prices are in the description and then you reduce $250 if you are trade-in and reduce your trade-in device value

        • +7

          It's still a decent deal.

        • +43

          people need to stop complaining.

they gone out of their way to post this deal, why don't you find a better deal than and come back and tell us?
show some respect. im geting sick of this on this website. Dont want it? dont buy, no one is forcing you to take up these deals.

      • How do we claim this deal? do we need a government / edu registered email to access the deal page?

    • How do we claim this deal? do we need a government / edu registered email to access the deal page?

Meh nothing special. Epp/gov portals are always 20% off vs retail site.

This was the same price as it was on release, but you don't get free memory upgrade, $350 trade in bonus and the $150 + $350 accessories vouchers.

    Hodl for the next sale

    • +3

Thanks for sharing the comparison. I didn't think this was good.

    • +23

The GOV and EDU stores weren't offering the free memory upgrade at pre order. That was only the main store and prices were higher.

      • -8

The edu store was doing free upgrade on the s24U. The 256 was greyed out and the 512 was the same price as the greyed out 256

        • +3

No it wasn't. I bought my S24U from there. You're thinking of the main store.

          • -1

@wombat81: My wife is a teacher i used her account. I know what I got and where i ordered it through. Maybe it was only day 1 of presales

            • @feisty: Well you somehow hacked the system because that wasn't on offer for anyone else. I'm literally typing this with a 256gb S24U, ordered from the EDU store on the first day of presale.

              • @wombat81: We'll settle at calling me lucky then. The 512 came down to 1184 which was about what everyone was paying who didn't return items

                • -1

                  @feisty: Nah, some paid.$900

                • @feisty: No luck involved.

And you're the only person stating this for AU EDU. The original post has 100+ comments where no one mentioned this as a possibility because it wasn't possible and still isn't possible.

            • @feisty:

I know what I got and where i ordered it through.

              No you don't unfortunately.

              • -3

@BTMoustachio: Chill dude You missed out nobody has taken away your birthday.

        • +5

The EDU store was not doing free storage upgrades

          • -1

@Fobsessive: In NZ the EPP stores were doing the memory upgrade (I bought one).

          • -2

@Fobsessive: Well then you missed out

            • +3

@feisty: You just paid the extra for the 512. It was about $150 difference after discounts. At times the 256 showed as unavailable and it defaulted to 512, not sure why - perhaps that's why you got the impression it was a free upgrade.

              • -3

@nigel deborah: If you read my initial post the price was the same for both 512 at 256 price. The 256 was greyed out and had a price under it. the 512 was offered at the same price as the 256.

              • +1

                @nigel deborah: What he said:

The EDU store definitely had a brief promotion (maybe an error in loading) where they had the S24U 512GB model at the same price as the 256GB one, but it only lasted for a day or two

                • @feisty: As I said originally, 256gb was unavailable briefly on EDU. But during that time the 512gb did not drop to the price of 256gb. It may have just appeared that way because it was still significantly cheaper than what was available on the non edu store.

Not sure why this is the hill you want to die on. It's still a good price regardless of whether you got 512gb upgrade 'for free'.

          • +1

@Fobsessive: The comments beg to differ:

The EDU store definitely had a brief promotion (maybe an error in loading) where they had the S24U 512GB model at the same price as the 256GB one, but it only lasted for a day or two

            • @feisty: Woah, very interesting. Getting the full $200 GALAXYAI with a free storage upgrade to 512GB would be legendary

              • @Fobsessive: I was pretty stoked. Then scoring one of the S95C samsung OLEDS super cheap made my week. But it also made me very poor. Lol.

        • +1

The EDU store definitely had a brief promotion (maybe an error in loading) where they had the S24U 512GB model at the same price as the 256GB one, but it only lasted for a day or two around January 22nd. During that period, the button for the 256GB version was greyed out with a message indicating it was "coming/available soon." I even had a chat with one of their agents who really pushed me to take advantage of the deal. However, I was actually in the market for the S24+ and wanted to see if there was any way I could use the GALAXYAI code on it instead or if a similar offer would be made on the S24 models after the presale period. The agent just kept going on about the S24U, emphasizing what a great deal it was and even offering to stay online and monitor the transaction.

Interestingly, I noticed that the 256GB model was available on the regular Samsung portal, just not the EDU one. When I brought this up with the agent, she became a bit defensive and insisted that the regular store and the EDU store operate with separate inventories that cannot be transferred between the two. Overall, I couldn't shake the feeling that Samsung was trying to bait and switch or upsell me, and I wasn't impressed with their aggressive approach.

          • +1

@KnetD: That's a bit strange. I would have been happy with the 256 but a free upgrade wasn't a bad thing. It seems a few people aren't happy that had to pay for 512

            • +1

@feisty: I understand that nobody likes to feel like they overpaid, but hey that's life sometimes, right. I don't begrudge those who managed to snag a better deal by acting quicker, thinking smarter, or simply got lucky. I'm genuinely grateful for platforms like Ozbargain and the contributors who generously shared their insights, helping me save over $1K+ on my S24U.

To the unhappy, remember that the launch of the Pixel 9 and iPhone 16 is a few months away - Let the (new) games begin!

          • @KnetD: Yeah, the prices have gotten ridiculous. My $1500 Galaxy Note 10+ failed in 3 years. Now the new phones don't even have SD card slots! If you get the 512MB version it'll be $2000!!! I went with the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 512GB, fully waterproof and it's so smooth. Faster than my Note 10+ at just under half of the price of a new Galaxy S24+ (1/3 of the price of a Galaxy S24 Ultra). So I could literally buy the latest brand new phone every single year or hope that the Galaxy S24 Ultra lasts 3 years without getting damaged and made obsolete.

            • @supersabroso: I've got this personal rule – I never drop more than $1K on a mobile phone, let alone what I'd spend on a laptop. It's just a line I draw for myself, you know? But hey, I totally respect folks who want to go all out on their new tech. Me? I just don't use my phone that much, and I don't need a lot of the fancy features on the latest models to justify the cost.

But then my trusty Galaxy S10+ started acting noticeably sluggish and Samsung pulled the plug on future support. Plus, my Galaxy S3 tablet was pretty much on its deathbed. So, it got me thinking about upgrading to something like the Ultra - kill 2 birds with one stone.

Luckily, Samsung had some sweet pre-order deals and a killer trade-in offer. But when I got sent a loyalty voucher it pretty much sealed the deal. I managed to snag the S24U for sub $900! Not bad, considering I shelled out around $920 for my S10+ back in late 2019. Feels like I scored big time with the Ultra and it really is a brilliant phone.

    • +4

The accessories were just $350 not $150+ $350 vouchers

    • The pre order bonuses are the same as now. 350 for Ultra and 250 for S24 and 24+

    • +3

I'm not sure why you're getting so many upvotes when most of what you said is wrong.

While this deal isn't as good as the pre order deals, I doubt there are better deals out there right now. Feel free to post a better alternative.

    • JB Hifi were the ones doing the free memory upgrade.

      • +1

The normal Samsung store was doing it.

        • -1

Ok sweet. We grabbed ours through JB because it was slightly better value than the EDU store for us.

Going through the regular website wouldn’t have been 20% off though surely?

    • +2

      Phones are to expensive.

    • Appreciate the info!

  • -2

you cant trade in with gov email (some Gov organisations such as Defence) as OTP from Asurion are being blocked. Unable to place the order because of this issue. No one was able to help either asurion or samsung in solving simple problem.

    • +1

Samsung live chat is a time killer and is useless so that's no surprise. They just refuse to solve the issue or refer you to email addresses that don't reply.

      • previous years, the trade in ID was generated in trade up app, now those codes don't work online, its a pain to talk to these companies.

        • +3

You're doing it wrong. You don't use the trade up app anymore. The trade in process happens in the checkout of whatever Samsung store you're purchasing from now.

          • @wombat81: Good riddance for the useless Trade Up app

          • @wombat81: thats exactly what i said in other words, because it is done online, i am not receiving OTP either ways meaning via trade up app or online samsung website or gov website.

    • Not sure if you used defence for a reason, if you have a veteran card, you can access the discount thru APOD.

    • What did Defence IT say about it since they would likely be the ones blocking it?

    • I had same experience with edu ID.

    • Has anyone been able to navigate around using a defence email (short of working in some other government department lol)

      • Contact the Defence IT and ask them if they can do anything. Not much Samsung or Asurion can do about it if Defence is blocking it.

        • That is a great idea, will let you know how I go.

  • Will wait for coupon stack deal, can't justify not than $100 for s24 when I tradein my s23

  • +1

Has anyone got their s24 ultra yet? I've been pushed back to end of Feb!

    • +1

The support person rang me today only to say it can be until 21/2! The order status changed to Shipped ytd but I haven't gor any tracking notification from the post yet.
      Very disappointed with their service!

      • +1

        Mine is 27/02!

      • I assume you are not following the other 29 page long EPP Pre-order deal. So according to Samsung, Shipped doesn't really mean shipped. It is supposedly their internal indicator to say that your device have been allocated for shipment in their warehouse. Their next status of On the Way would be what Shipped is for us commoners.

P.S: Mine is also showing the status as shipped with the order tracking page showing get it by 14/02.

        • I'm not, but I'll try find it.

Mine says "starts shipping from 27/02" so probably won't get it to early March.

Definitely put a damper on the deal

      • I ordered on the launch weekend.

        • The colour had a big role in the delay. Mine is Blue

    • Samsung were spot on. Ordered on 2nd. Quoted 7th. Driver was knocking on the door at 9am.

    • Ordered through office works and received it in January. Also received $1460 trade in( in vouchers) for the s23 ultra that I paid $1500 for.

      • Got mine 7 Feb. Still not open box yet. Consider selling or keeping. Still have my s23 ultra.

Has anyone purchased a redmi note 12+ or 13+ and got the NFC working in australia? I usually pay with commbank app contactless. I need a new phone!

    • Why would you be looking at an overseas device if you rely on your phone for payment?

      • Because some people can't stand the terrible selection of phones we've got available to us ….

        iPhone, nope!

Samsung? Not bad nowadays again but maybe missing some feature people want

Oppo? The crap version of one plus it seems

        Sony? Lol

        • What features is Samsung missing?

Sony don't sell phones in Australia any more.

If you're prepared to deal with flaky payments for that, sure, but it seems dumb to me if paying with your phone is important to you.

        • Pixel for general use, Motorola for great bang for buck.

        • I'm just gonna suck it up and get a s22 ultra second hand as I have no idea how to flash ROMs for Xiaomi. Although I'm pretty sure my commbank tap and pay would work on the redmi just not Google pay

  • Has anyone seen deals on samsung watch 6 classic with LTE

    • Ive seen some good deals on marketplace.

I got my one for $250 a month ago and one sold this week for $200 near me.

  • Can you stack the 10% diacounnt cba yellow gives you also

    • Didn’t work for me

    • Nope, unlike most other yello offers, this one requires you to use a special link

  • +2

Samsung online store has terrible customer service. Take the eta they give you with a very large pinch of salt…

    • Agree, they did have an excellent deal. But 2 years ago I made the mistake of ordering through them. I still didn't have it three weeks after launch despite ordering a standard colour and pre ordering on their first day.
Spent hours trying to get through their phone system over many days .

  • ive been boycotting samsung for years. i don't have gov/edu/partners/westpec emails/acc. so i just don't buy anything from them

    • +7

Did you see the vid of the Samsung tech cutting into a tv to avoid waiting for parts to arrive so they could deny warranty?

Just that alone makes me want to steer clear of Samsung.

      • -4

        Seems like bs to me.

        • The only part that looked like bs was asking the owner to turn off the circuit breaker to the room to get the owner out whilst he got his blade to cut the screen.

        • +1

Did you watch the part of the video showing the tech clearly cutting the screen? Around 15min mark.

          • -1

@brifog: Who knows how legit this is?

            1. It's posted by some dude on YouTube with 2mil followers. This dude clearly makes a (very good) living from YouTube and needs views to maintain that. Posting controversial vids is a great way to get views.

            2. Where in hell would an actual Samsung employee come to your house to check your tv? At best it would be a 3rd party repairer and of they're doing dodgy shit, it's not on Samsung.

            3. I find it very hard to believe the legitimacy of videos like this. So much of this stuff is staged for views these days.

            4. Even ignoring all of the above, if there's one dodgy Samsung repair guy in the world, that probably isn't surprising. When this becomes are common, regular issue, than I might care. 1 case of something happening isn't even worth thinking about. If you're not going to buy Samsung products based on one video on YouTube then you may as well forget every other brand on earth too. Are we going to start believing every nutter that posts a crazy negative Google review too? There wouldn't be many restaurants left to eat at…

    • Ok. Thanks for letting us know.

  • Any loyalty code/ CME code applicable for this offer?

    • Nope expired on the 6th

  • +3

Not a great deal ATM, would recommend more stackable deals to come like it was during the pre-sale offers. Got s24U 256 for $1100 with $1 trade in.

    • Wow that was a good one. I had a look but was in above $1500 what I coule get so passed.
