Mine recently was going flat halfway through a clean with no warning, and it was sounding like a jet engine instead of a vacuum haha. I took the opportunity to take it apart completely and give it a good clean, replacing the battery, lidar motor, vacuum fan, tires, as well as other consumables. I also flashed it with valetudo as the app was becoming glitchy. Goes like brand new now, less than half as loud and much more suction. Bought all the parts off AliExpress for about 80 bucks all up I'd say
mine has styorfoam in the vacuum area. (not just the little box) i got scared and didnt unscrew toooo much.

what was the issue with your s5 max?..mine still going strong other than the recent "lidar turret blocked" error, which I could open and solve.
Right wheel seems have frozen up. Took it apart everything looks loose but when I put it back together still seems twice as hard to turn as the left wheel.

I managed to snag a q7 max around black friday for $499. I am unsure though how often it goes on a decent sale, i know that was definitely an all time low although the q7 max doesn't come with the dock I did manage to get the s7 auto empty dock for $200 which works with the q7 max.

New model has 10k suction instead of 6k. Can clean 90 degree corners and has the better camera avoidance system etc.
The camera avoidance system and corner stuff is what really stands out to me… Not sure I trust the ir/ camera less s8… Am almost tempted to get an s7 Mac instead

Looks like Bing Lee has taken down the 15% bonus gift card offer from their website. Might have been an error to have that in conjunction with discounted price. Hopefully, others managed to grab the deal before it was removed, just like I did.
