Is there anything this month for existing accounts? Anyone know?

    • It's a waiting game unfortunately :(

      • +3

I’m tired of the waiting game.

      • +5

The waiting game sucks, lets play hungry hungry hippos

  • +14

Bring back even one 0% FVF per month and that ebayplus would be worth it.

    • I find the 50% off postage is better. Helps defray costs for low-value sales, or if you have a really large item.

      • +4

        We used to get both

  • Can you activate it now? I tried and it says not eligible. On a new account though.

    • +2

      No, deal starts Monday 12th…

      • +2

        Yup, saw that, thanks.

  • +3

    C’mon man. 😓

  • +2

I pay for eBay plus annually on 5 accounts specifically for the zero fees promotions.

Sucks that there's none this month for existing members.
Had a couple thousand in stuff I wanted to sell.

Hopefully next month, because I'm not making a 6th account

    • +5

I misread the title thinking it was for existing sellers, bugger.

    • +1

I pay for eBay plus annually on 5 accounts specifically for the zero fees promotions.

      wait same lmaooo

  • If you open a new account to sell, how to get around the bank account set up? I thought the bank account had to be same name?

    • Easy enough to setup multiple bank accounts without bank fees, heck some accounts even have signup bonuses like the recent ING deal for $75

      • And using the same ID hasn’t been an issue?

        • +3

eBay help pages states you can have multiple accounts to keep buying and selling separate, or to experiment with selling different product lines

  • +1

Nice. I'd like to sell some exp electronics and camera stuff. What's the way to not get scammed. Eg claims of not sent, wrong item/broken item/etc.

    • +3

I’ve sold hundreds of items and have gotten less than 5 cases opened against me.

Not saying it won’t happen but it’s extremely rare.

      • I'm just brand new at this. I've only bought, and once or twice even I've had fake stuff come and couldn't get a refund. Long time ago tho. mostly on amzn now.

      • Same here, one open case in about 25 years of selling. Dodgy buyer trying to score it free, he also had buyers remorse as he overpaid the going rate so started making up stuff about what's wrong with it. I got him to return it and resold it later so no real harm

    • +1

Depending on the value of the item I always add insurance, tracking and signature on delivery to any items sent no matter who I’m sending it through, most the time I pass this cost onto the buyer but every now and then I don’t mind paying a little extra for that peace of mind. I also take a picture and video of me boxing the item up and sealing it. Obviously the picture and video isn’t fool proof given I could easily remove the item once packing it, but still. I haven’t had a claim yet but when I do I want to be ready.

      • +1

No point paying insurance if it’s under like $700ish as eBay will cover it provided it’s sent with a big company. Signature on delivery is good depending on the place and if it’s a first time buyer though

        • I wasn’t actually aware eBay Cover it for under $700 in all honesty, where should I be scoping out this info? Handy for the future!

But yeh I’m generally talking sales for mobile phones greater than $1000

I should also mention I contact leading bidders with low feedback mid auction and give them an hour to let me know they’re legit before I cancel their bids. Probably seems like overkill but have had low feedback buyers win the auction too often and it’s just a waste of time relisting everything / offering second chance bids etc.

            @MBix: Seller protections: https://www.ebay.com.au/help/policies/selling-policies/selle…

Using one of the protected integrated carriers below means that eBay may manage 'Item not received' requests for you on orders up to $750, and you may not be responsible for refunding the buyer if the item doesn't arrive. These new seller protections are being introduced gradually and will apply to all sellers from early 2024. Please visit eBay Announcements for updates.

            Source: https://www.ebay.com.au/help/selling/shipping-items/setting-…

To make the resolution process faster and easier for buyers and sellers, we'll automatically respond to some 'Item not received' requests on a seller's behalf. The new process will apply to all sellers later in 2023.

If you're part of the new process, eBay will manage 'Item not received' requests for you when:

            • You used a protected integrated carrier
            • You uploaded tracking and there was at least one carrier scan before the latest estimated delivery date
            • The order value is no more than $750

You won't need to respond to the request, and you won't be responsible for providing a refund to the buyer if the item doesn't arrive.

You may still need to respond to some requests – for example, if the order value was over $750 or the package wasn't scanned by the carrier within the estimated delivery date.

            Source: https://www.ebay.com.au/help/selling/managing-returns-refund…

            • +1

@I Smell Pennies: Thank you for that :-)

            • @I Smell Pennies: When a buyer reports that an item hasn't arrived

If you uploaded tracking information from an integrated carrier before the latest estimated delivery date and the tracking shows evidence of successful delivery:

You won't be responsible for refunding the buyer

          • @MBix: How do you check if bidders are legit?

            • @furyou: Honestly I just look at the highest bidder and click on their profile, if they've got little to no feedback or are an account that's recently been opened I generally send them the message then delete their bid not long after. I know everyone has to start somewhere with their account so it's a little harsh, but I just CBF messing around

        • +2

Not true… ebay don’t care auspost lost my package and eBay didn’t cover it was only $250. If you read it closely item has to be marked as delivered…. Auspost also didn’t cover it. See train derail SA

          • @zerog101: This has been my experience on both sides as a buyer and a seller, if something goes wrong, its extremely difficult to get ANYTHING out of ebay, there are clauses on clauses that contradict each other and they will refer to the one that suits there lack of responsibility. I have had to refund scam buyers and purchased items in which the wrong item was sent and ebay sides with the seller because postage shows it was delivered!

If I had other legit options I would never use ebay, I already list all of my stuff on other sites first and only resort to ebay when I have been unable to move them elsewhere. Purchases I avoid as well, usually better/cheaper options on Amazon, Temu or elsewhere, again ebay is an absolute last resort for me.

        • I had a buyer break a fan on a GPU and demand a refund - AusPost wouldn't cover it, ebay wouldn't even cover the cost of a new fan. Thankfully I got it back, it was still working and I could resell again. Not the buyer didn't pay insurance when it came back. Had another buyer recieve a pair of RM's and they attempted to scam a refund, it took ages and thankfully ebay sided with me

      • Is a signature requirement actually any good these days? Most carriers have automatic ‘Authority To Leave (ATL) in a safe place’ so it’s often the delivery person signing and not the recipient. In those cases asking for proof of delivery (POD) is useless. I have this same trouble at work for commercial deliveries going to business addresses, and when we ask for POD on a lost shipment it’s rarely a staff member who’s signed for it.

        • Signatures only required if >$750. If tracking shows delivered (ATL under $750), seller is automatically covered under seller protections.

In fact I have an open “item not received” case on me right now. I’m not stressing because they’ll just close on my favour as it shows delivered. If they did not receive the item then it’s on them to seek further action from police etc.

        • I think it’s slowly been changing back post-COVID restrictions, at least in the case of deliveries I get, Aus Post don’t sign for me any more and never leave the parcel unless I sign. But I generally put the cost of all of that in the sale, but as I Smell Pennies said I’ll change that tactic now for smaller sales

          • @MBix: @MBix be careful, the new rules haven’t exactly applied yet for all sellers. It was meant to be April 2023 but they’re still delaying it for God knows what reason.

All my delivery couriers still sign and leave it inside my gate.

  • +1

    Well well well.
Maybe eBay read these pages lol
    Thanks ISP

    • +8

You’re welcome, but we still need a promo for existing sellers :(

      • +3

Ah right - read it too quickly in my enthusiasm.
Oh well, hopefully they will throw us eBay plus members something too. We deserve it given they have made the $5 vouchers $35 minimum spend

  • +2

I kind of want to revoke my + vote since I'm not eligible on any accounts I have

  • +1

Nooo! I'm so annoyed. sold something this week and ebay took a hundred dollars in fees. This is after no one was interested in this item ALL of last month when this same deal was on and there were no fees and i charged lower price. But as soon as i relist it, boom, it gets bought.

    • I think eBay has a system in place. I hardly get any exposure for sells during promos and I usually have to pay for eBay to advertise my listings which almost cancels out the $0 fees.

  • ISP what is the source you found the deal

  • +2

no one wants to sell with 0 feedback to many scammers will try get you. who wants to buy from someone with 0 feedback too.

    • I somehow only have 2 digit feedback on my 10 year old account so I've been buying like 2 dozen random $1-$2 things recently to farm feedback lol

      • +1

Do it slowly, I got my 20+ years account for 'overbuying' a few months back because I bought about 20 individual items all at once and they said I was a risk to the community for doing this

    • +1

      so true.

      Ebay sucks even more now.

  • +2

I don't know why I don't have the "50% off Australia Post (Standard Parcel Post) and Sendle Postage Labels Promo".

    • Yeah same with me :(

    • noticed it's not applied to store seller from Jan

      • I am not a store seller.

  • +2

bit of a joke on ebays part… looks like some exec at eBay AU is trying to justify dwindling account registrations prior to the next board meeting…

  • Good timing. I have a bunch of stuff to sell and refuse to give eBay such a chunk of my already discounted goods

  • Need a site wide 20% deal

  • +1

Weird promo when it excludes most of the people who pay money for a premium membership…

  • +2

have not sold any items on eBay in the last 12 months

    I’m out.
This is new and makes this kind of a non-deal for most of us

  • just login to an account that has not been used for 2 years. still same "Unfortunately, this promotional offer is not available to you."

did anyone managed to activate this offer or is it broken ?

    • This offer starts in 3 days.

      • previously even offer starts in 3 days you can still register in advance? …

      • I like your Avatar :P

  • HAIYAAAAAAAA

I just shut my eBay store after 10 years. Wasn't selling anything the last 2 years after money I lost from lost parcels and dodgy buyers. I was paying $27 month for nothing. Never go back to ebay

    • +1

      daddy, chill…..

  • +1

    New or Reactivated Sellers

Whilst existing plus members get shafted.

Has anyone noticed the new $5 off coupons is now $30 spend not $15? Mongrels..

The current topcash deal is better

    • +1

Has anyone noticed the new $5 off coupons is now $30 spend not $15? Mongrels..

It's actually a $35 minimum now. Talk about bait and switch. Bastards.

      • +1

Yeah that's even worse ~14% ha.
Not worth the bother of trying to find something to buy but $5 of $15 was handy for a pair of good sports socks or small itesm.

  • +2

    great…..existing customers loyalty is zero.
SO lets start using new accounts to gain the benefits.

    • +1

Good idea but who is going to buy from someone that just joined with 0% rating.
Can't imagine opening another ebay plus unless it's $10 but even then messy having multiple, unless you are just talking about a normal ebay account (which the first point would still apply).

      • yeah true.

  • With new accounts is better to only accept cash on pickup for listings otherwise you have to wait a month for money to get into bank account.

  • Waiting for eBay to nuke the promo at the 11th hour…

  • 50% off Australia Post (Standard Parcel Post) and Sendle Postage Labels Promo is still ongoing as of this time.

This is not active and ended over a month ago. 😔

    • +1

Ended on one of my accounts a month or 2 ago but still working on my other one

      • Damn, It doesn't work on any of my accounts. It says "Unfortunately, this promotional offer is not available to you.". Bastards.

    • +2

I have this promo currently running and used 1 yesterday

  • Yes! Been waiting for this to sell a phone

Edit: oh wait new only wtf???

  • +4

What an insult to all the ebay plus members

  • 50% off Australia Post is not working for me. I'm on eBay plus. No discount in January, and none in February either.

    • hardly ever works. Once I used it and the weight was a bit wrong so had to pay normally and get a refund from ebay.
Not really worth the effort, just make sure you factor in enough postage for what the buyer pays.

      • I'm signed up for MyPost Business and ship enough product to get discounts of between 3% and 20% on a variety of products. Only makes sense to use eBay's label service when they offer hefty discounts, and only for heavy packages.

I think it was March 2023 that eBay offered 10 free AP and Sendle labels. That was a glorious time. I shipped so many 5 to 15kg packages, for free, that I doubt eBay is ever going to repeat the offer.

        • Sounds alright. I only sell the odd thing so doesn't make much difference. Good if these promos actually work though.
Not interested in Sendle either, haha.

  • i had one 0% FVF from Plus last month and sold an item but buyer did not pay so order was cancelled (can't leave neg feedback on buyer for wasting time to warn others). Hoping for another similar deal this month but nope, it won't happen, Plus has been losing privileges for ppl to join. Who will have confidence to buy from 0 or inactive selling feedbacks ? so disappointed

    • +4

I hate this too and my trick now is to only list Buy it now - you get 30 days to sell the item if its within promo period (if you time it well, you get close to 60 days exposure).

I dont accept offers per se because once its accepted, the buyer can also not pay and you are in the same camp so instead i just adjust the buy it now price so the buyer must pay and check out in order for the transaction to work.

      • +1

cool, thank you for sharing your experiences, I don't sell a lot on Ebay nowaday due to their high fees. Will keep that in mind in the future

      • If you're going to use buy it now only option make sure you tick the require immediate payment check box.

  • +2

This is a sneaky offer. If someone hasn't sold anything for 12 months, and hasn't made any purchases either, their rating will be 0%. Naturally people want to sell expensive items to take advantage of zero fee offers, but would you buy something from someone who has zero feedback?

    • Exactly! eBay puts such an importance on looking for positive feedback ratings when determining who customers should buy from, yet they are just inviting a flood of items from 0 and low feedback sellers with this promo.

  • +1

Ebay is a rort these days, hardly worth it.

Ps just saw this banner - Score a $10 voucher* when you join our mailing list

Have done it before but checked and my marketing preferences were off, so you never know.

  • +1

Is this working for brand new accounts?

    • +2

not working on my new account

  • Are the discounted postage vouchers available with this? Or only for eBay Plus?

  • +1

    What is a reactivated seller?

    • +1

      good question.
seems u get punished for if you're a current subscriber

  • 12:16AM, in a new account that hasnt sold anything 12mth+; still showing: Unfortunately, this promotional offer is not available to you.

    • Now 8 hours later and still showing the same for me. Haven't sold anything in over 5 years. Was going to list something on Friday, but been waiting all weekend for this. :-(
