Meal Plan or Kit Recommendations

Hi all,

After some recommendations please for a meal plan service e.g My Muscle Chef etc.

Am aware they aren’t the most economical choice of meals but my circumstances at the moment might make this a good choice for me time wise

After a reasonably balance between value and quality. If there are any promos or particular companies that have regular promos that’d be a plus too.

Thanks!

I get half My Muscle Chef and half Food4Fitness, I like certain meals from both.

Promo wise most only have sign-up/reactivation offers.

At the moment I'm churning meal kits (Hello Fresh, Marley Spoon, Everyplate, Dinnerly, etc.) with my partner. Most offer 40% off your first two boxes (around $70 a week for 5 meals for 2 people). If you're single this can cover lunch/dinner. After the first two boxes, you cancel and move to another provider offering 40% off. After you cycle through, usually the first one you signed up for is offering another 40% off reactivation bonus. Not sure about meal plans (My Muscle Chef, YouFoodz, etc.), but I'd assume its similar.

Time wise, meal kits definitely save the time/effort of grocery shopping/meal planning yourself, but not so much on the cooking side. I'm not the best cook, so I find personally most recipes take up to an hour rather than the 20-30 mins listed. I find the recipes can sometimes be unnecessarily complex.

Recipe wise I would rate Marley Spoon>HelloFresh>Dinnerly>Everyplate. Produce can often be hit or miss in terms of freshness, with limp carrots or soggy leaves, but generally you can't tell once its cooked.

This is exactly what my partner and I do too. But we added a new one we saw on Instagram lately called QuickLite, give them a try too! Can’t recall the last time I actually paid full price for a box of food and I’ve been doing this for 2 years lol

How cool! Have you ever calculated the average cost of a meal over the two years?

wow this is awesome! really appreciate the info. I'll start doing this. will probably run a hybrid between these providers and also my muscle chef when i'm super lazy

  • If you really want to be lazy, Qota - https://qota.com.au/

It's my lunch most days while working from home, otherwise I tend to eat crap because I don't have time.
