Thoughts on Minisforum New Motherboard with Inbuilt Ryzen 7/9 Mobile Chips

https://store.minisforum.com/products/minisforum-bd770i?fbcl…

Minisforum is doing a presale on these ITX motherboards with inbuilt Ryzen 7 chips. $519usd for the 7945hx version, $399usd for the 7745hx version.
The board comes equipped with a built-in PCIe 5.0 x16 slot allowing any sized graphics cards. At this presale price is it good value and what do the ITX enthusiasts think about this concept in general? I'm considering doing my own ITX build in the future and stumbled across these so just trying to get other opinions.

The release of AMD's Ryzen's 8000G CPUs seriously changes the landscape in this area.

The 8000Gs are basically the same silicon as the 7000 series mobile chips, but able to run at a higher wattage because they're in a desktop package, and as a result a higher speed.

Everyone currently building Ryzen-based mini PCs will be madly trying to figure out whether they can do it better and/or cheaper with a socketed 8000G desktop chip, and offer different models by just plugging in an 8300G or an 8500G or an 8700G, or whether the best solution is to keep going with soldered-in 7000 series mobile chips. The fact that the higher end 8000Gs also have AI support on board will affect that decision. Similarly, but in the other direction, the 8000Gs only have PCIe 4.0, not 5.0.

Right now, if you're looking at a Ryzen-based mini PC, an AM5 mini-ITX motherboard with an 8000G CPU is an alternative you'd have to consider.
