Superloop Price Change in Nov 2023

I just found out Superloop updated their pricing in November 2023.

For gigabit speeds I have been paying for many months $119 per month but they have revised their ongoing plan to $109 per month.

I called and argued that it should be automatic but they said it's the price I have agreed to pay in the contract…. (for the same plan) and in order to get the price is to change the plan (to the same gigabit plan) in order to get the new pricing.

I find this shocking but I thought it could benefit other Superloop customers who are not aware of this.

Plus I am not trying to get the extra discount or new modem as a new customers.

Still will try round 2 with their accounts dept on Monday. Already saved me $10 every month no harm to see if the next call could save me $30.

Note:you can change your current plan on the app people.
Special Thanks goes to Mrs Eff on the information of the $109 plan change since august 23.

Glad I called, the outcome is better than what I initially wanted. All happy now.

Happy 🐉🐉🐉New Year!
Let's make a ton of money and make every dollar count.

  • I have agreed to pay in the contract

So are you still in contract? I'm confused.

    • Well technically I am but just change to a different plan (actually same plan) it's an ongoing month to month contract if that make sense?

I am not familiar to month to month service provider contract but maybe a lawyer/someone here might help out

According to them I have to change my current plan/contract (same gigabit plan) in order to enjoy the new pricing. So is that a same contract or a new contract?

        Ok. I think.

I called and argued that it should be automatic

I don't see why you would expect them to drop $10pm while you are in a contract. They are just doing what you agreed to do. They are a business not a charity.

Anyway, I'm glad it's worked out for you. How long is your new contract?

        • It's a month to month until you cancel like any other internet providers and similar to mobile postpaid services.

        • What happened for all the people whose (50/20) plan increased?

It appears they automatically increased them according to posts on Whirlpool.

          • @Gareth: My 50/20 still on $65, hopefully it stays

$119 per month but they have revised their ongoing plan to $109 per month

Wow, when I clicked on this post I was expecting yet another company taking advantage of the BS 'Inflation' excuse and increasing their price(s) as a result, but boy was I surprised to see that the price has decreased (aka deflation)

    • NBN wholesale pricing changed 1 December, mostly going down

NBN Co’s new wholesale prices, which come into effect on 1 December 2023, will see significant reductions in the prices of our entry level and higher speed tiers.

For light internet users, we have created a 12/1 Mbps Basic Bundle, which has been discounted by $10 to be available for a wholesale price of $12. Our 25/5 Mbps product has been discounted by $11 and will be available for a wholesale price of $26.

Our 50/20 Mbps product, will see a $5 wholesale price increase to $50, however, we are incorporating greater value into this plan with a 34 per cent increase in included data. When the value of additional data is taken into consideration, the relative price increase is less than inflation.

We have also committed to conducting twice yearly reviews to ensure our data inclusions continue to keep pace with customers’ growing data demands.

We will remove CVC (capacity) charges from our higher speed tier products from 1 December 2023 and reduce our wholesale prices. Our 100/20 Mbps product will see a $3 price reduction to $55; our 250/25 Mbps will be reduced by $8 to $60, and our 1000/50 Mbps will be reduced by $10 to $70.

I appreciate this! I didn’t realise that they’d revised the prices down. I will contact them tomorrow and have my monthly price updated. Thanks for the PSA!

  • So the price of my Superloop internet plan has actually gone down?
    I’m confused 🫤

    • well no and yes

Almost all major nbn providors have increased prices of their lowest speeds nbn plans and reduced prices of their highest speed nbn plans

      • That sounds good, my current internet plan with Superloop is 1000/50 so mine is going down?

        • The prices changed at the end of last year

  • Same with me, so I reported them to the TIO and they gave me $100+ in credit. You should do the same.

  • Looks like OP does not check any of the plans OP is on as this occurs with electricity/gas, phone and insurance plans, unless the company increases the prices as they will pass the increase on, but not a decrease in 99% of cases.

It's been $109 since at least last Aug, as that's when I signed up, that's pretty poor form to not update the pricing for existing customers..

    Total monthly fee $109.00/mth
    ($99/mth first 6 months. $109.00/mth ongoing
