After extensive research about air purifiers I went ahead and bought one from Temu around $30 mark, most there had feed back around 4.5-4.7 over 20-30k sold, I received mine today but not sure if it is doing the job correctly by removing some smell and dust, don't understand how small unit size of can can remove the dust at all when comparing to large units. It does seem to be sucking something from the top, do these actually work I don't have another unit to make compassion and online hardly has any air purifier to compared.

Temu is a mixed bag. It's like Ali Express with a slicker interface.
Depending on the size of your room and how dusty it is even a small branded one might not be enough. holdenmg's link might be useful.

I doubt the extensive research was very effective if you bought a small $30 purifier, unless you're trying to purify the inside of a cardboard box and nothing bigger.
You choose a purifier based on airflow- the rule of thumb is enough airflow to do 6 complete air changes an hour. And a small $30 is unlikely to do this with any sized room.
They don't remove 'dust' they remove ultrafine particles which are too small to see.
They don't remove 'smells' unless they have sizeable carbon filters, which a $30 Temu special will lack.
What space are you trying to clean and what is your budget? If the budget really is $30 then the serious answer is "don't bother"
There is a new one at IKEA. Not sure how good it is but it's at least from a big company.

I've been using an Arovec that I purchased off Amazon. No complaints so far. Good enough for a bedroom.
