  • Im trying to find where it says charger and case included?

    • +2

      Warranty?

      • I'd imagine so, yes. Warranty is provided by the manufacturer, not the store.

    • +8

Go buy that then, and good luck

      • All for $7 saving, yes good luck!

        • So what? I see heaps of deals (fast food etc) on here where savings is less than $7.

    • +2

      🤡

  • +2

Same price at HN and JBhifi

      I don't like Hardly Normal.

      • +4

Aint giving that grub any money.

      • Ain't nobody likes 'em here…

  • +1

    And BigW

  • So this is actually the new RRP now

    • Maybe just a Motorola temporary special price price promotion through multipple dealers for a limited time only…..

Be quick,…..untill sale ends or stock runs out lol.

  • Are all Motorola G14 dual SIM?? cause I'm not able to see any details on no. of SIM in BigW listing

    • +1

      Yes, dual nano sim

  • I'm hearing there's an issue with the Uber Didi app with the G14, is that the case? Something to do with not being able to call the driver?

    • If it were Microsoft, we'd just need to "update drivers" :-P

  • +1

No 5G so will be a bit waste using Boost.

    • +1

Not really, Boost cripple 5G speeds anyway.

  • +1

Thank you. I price matched with JB and used my $10 perks voucher to pick up the G14 for $137.

    • amazing

    • +2

I got it from BigW and was able to bring it down to $134.1 using the rewards code, try using XFEB2024 who knows if it's generic. Enjoy

      • Tried XFEB2024 not working for me

        • Ohh hard luck mate. 😐

      • That’s only if you have a Woolworths rewards (insurance, mobile, etc). Same code for online at Woolies.

      • Thanks so much. I wouldn't have known about the code otherwise.

  • How is this phone coming from someone who has one? Seriously contemplating getting one as a backup or potentially everyday phone if it's any good?

    • +1

Check out some reviews. It's more than sufficient for basic tasks and is fantastic value for money.

  • Does this phone support VOLTE calling?

    • yes. All Australian market phones are supposed to.

  • +3

This is a dang amazing phone for the price. (I haven't used didi or uber to find out about the problem, though)

    • It really does pack in a lot of features for the price. Hopefully it will run smoothly on 4gb ram. I don't plan to go overboard on the multitasking or play demanding games.

  • $129 at big w. Maybe its locked to vodaphone?

  • +1

    What about G54 and G84?

    • What about them? Did you find them for $149 or less somewhere?

  • -2

Moto was notorious with bugs. Guess they never tested it.

  • I'm sure these have a niche use case besides drug dealers…dedicated sat nav for couriers or trucker's so they don't have to waste there main phone battery… Or for using a single app constantly at home or work like stonks etc and disable the screen off setting etc…. dedicated phone for Spotify that's Bluetooth to speakers for events etc

  • I just bought one, but there is no volte support for aldimobile? (Note no icon in the status bar)
I put in an amaysim card and it works fine, but not for aldimobile… I might need to port out I guess…

Can others confirm, or do I need to RMA?

I bought two, one for my partner…

    • Is there any option to turn on VoLTE in settings when the aldi sim is in?

      • It should have volte

      • There isn't, but there is a toggle if I put in an amaysim sim.
If I swap it back out, it's back to the no-toggle option again.

        • Yes, this happens sometimes. The toggle appears based on network supporting it. And sometimes, although the network supports it, you wont get the Toggle in settings.

          Try to do a force-enable VoLTE by dialing * # * # 8 6 5 8 3 * # * # without the spaces.
Works for me on one of my old Moto phones.

          • @djoz: This worked, rebooted the phone and "Enhanced 4G" turned up, but it has a HD icon instead of the voLTE icon. I guess it must be the same though.

            • @JennyTeoFunGirl: Yup. The HD icon means VoLTE. Your phone won't need to switch to 3G when you make voice calls. Glad that it worked.

    • might need to call Aldi to get them to enable on the service

  • Wondeing it support USB C to HDMI or not? Need to use that cable to connect my phone to non smart tv

  • Low end has the 2 features we don't have on high end. MicroSD Card slot + 3.5mm what the F

  • Wow.. great price phone.

Two quick questions to anyone that has bought one

    1) Will it read exFAT formatted Microsd cards? (usually Motorola does support exfat in alignment with the standard but I want to be certain after being burnt by Nokia)

    2) GSM arena some of the models (carrier) are only single sim. It says retail ones are dual sim (plus seperate microsd) Has anyone bought from officeworks and can confirm its a proper dual SIM with SD card as per the unboxing video? (yes I have read above saying its dual sim but that can also mean one of the slots can be used for either a second sim or microsd but not both at once)

    • +2

I purchased from JB not OW and can confirm it is indeed a dual sim phone with an additional slot for an SD card.
So yes, you can install 2 nano sims and 1 SD card.
No idea about the exFAT stuff though.

      • Phone any good for the price?

        • +1

So far, I'm finding it to be excellent money for the price.
After finding out about the above, got one for my mother as she has had two phones for years and can finally merge them into one device. It was not a feature I was after, just a pleasant surprise after popping the sim card tray.
          What I like so far:
          * Screen is very decent and quite bright at max setting
          * Sound is LOUD from the stereo speakers. Not much bass, but no loss to me
          * Fairly responsive
          * 3.5mm headphone jack - I like to use FM radio alot and it will be a good backup device for emergencies
          * Fingerprint reader in power button works great. Also has face recognition, but haven't set that up
          * Slim and lightweight - Comes with a standard plastic (or whatever it is) cover in the box, but feels better made than the pricetag to me even with the cover off
          * Did a google meet call and camera was better than expected - Comparing to my last backup phone Galaxy A20

It really does give a lot for this price.

          • @Arcticfox: Thanks Arcticfox for the feedback. Looking to swap from my Redmi Note 9 Pro on the cheap. Just finding it hard to give up the 33w fast charge and IR blaster.

            • @LarryD: That's a really good phone you already have. I'm still on the Redmi 5. Not much of an upgrade tbh. Why bother?

              • +1

@Windows7forever: Cause I was a Motorola person back in the day owning a couple of G series phones. I miss the chopping action to turn the torch on and the flicking of the wrist to activate the camera. Those features alone is what separates Motorola from the rest. Brilliant features and very handy to have on a phone these days.

  • Purchased this phone from JB Hi-Fi for $161.10 at the end of January during there after hours %10 off sale. Now down to $149. So went online and got them to refund the difference using there 14 day price guarantee. Told it should take around 3-5 days for refund to appear in PayPal.

    • Good stuff!

    • Sounds about right. Would be quicker had you paid cash.

      • It was an online afterhours sale otherwise I would have just gone in store and paid cash.

  • A question for someone who has this phone: can you use it without pressing the hardware buttons? Does it have tap-to-wake or double-tap-to-wake?

(I know the hardware buttons are needed to turn power on and off, I'm enquiring about everyday use).

    • Replying to myself, as I bought one: no, it doesn't have tap-to-wake, but if you leave "ambient mode" turned on, a bump from the side will bring up a clock display, and you can swipe up to get to the unlock screen. Also has raise-to-wake, which works even if you don't have face-recognition enabled.

Now trying to get screenshot-tile to work, and my favourite volume-control widget. Should be able to go buttonless, other than powering the phone on and off.
