Aeroplan Points - What to Do Now?

Got 50k and gold status from Star Alliance HSBC card but the points came so so late that I booked my flight through JAL already…

Is there any other way of using the points that it doesn't lose too much value? It seems like the gift card option has a bad conversation rate.

Does point selling still a thing?

Best value is flying. Hold onto them for your next overseas trip. You can redeem domestically on Virgin as well.

Haven't checked value of hotel redemptions, but could be an option for your Japan trip.

I'm curious from the time of online application,
to receiving the physical card, how long did that take ?

I have some travel plans coming up,
and so need to spend a few $,
so wondering how quickly I can get this HSBC card ?

It's pretty quick but get it asap as the points come in very slowly and Air Canada has a shit flight booking site
