Amazon Gift Card Limit on The Entertainment Card?

edit: Amazon gift cards are back on BUPA again!

I used to buy my Amazon gift cards through Bupa, but they no longer have them available. I use quite a bit per month for buying stuff for my home and small business (sometimes up to $2000 per month). Upon checking the OzBargain list to see where else I can get discounted Amazon gift cards, it seems that all the other sites require a paid membership, besides Shopback and Cashrewards. But both only offer 1 - 1.75% cashback - plus I think they have a monthly limit too.

What about the Entertainment card?

  1. Does anyone know if there is a monthly limit on how much I can purchase? If so, how much?
  2. What denominations are available - can I type in any amount, or are there set denominations I need to buy?
  3. How fast is the delivery of the e-gift card?

If the limits are quite high, I might consider buying the Entertainment card just for this purpose.

Appreciate everyone's help on this!

Thank you.

Looking at mine (I am a member and a seller of the 'books'):

Limit is $2,500 per 24 hours.

    Denominations are $50, $100, $250

Debit card/credit card processing fee is 1.25% of total order cost.

Please let me know if you have any questions, either here or through messenger.

If you are thinking about purchasing, there's an offer on at the moment for 2 months extra with a 12 or 24 month single city membership, or 4 months with a 12 or 24 month multi city membership.

And there is also a 3 month membership available, which could suit you if you just want to get the Amazon gift cards.

Oh - edit to say it looks like it is fairly instant with the cards being emailed to you.

    • The card processing fees are killing the entertainment book for me, I end up most of the time using Bupa Life Rewards most of the time as they don't have them.

    • Thanks for your response - it's very helpful!

The limit of $2500 per 24 hours - is that just on Amazon gift cards? Or is that for overall gift card purchases?

    • How much is the discount on the Amazon gift cards again? I see that there is a 1.25% processing fee.

      • +1

Oops. 3% and can only be used 'for the purchase of eligible goods on Amazon.com.au'.

Looks like the $2,500 restriction is just on the Amazon eGift cards.

        • Awesome thank you!

  • Open bank account with Macquire bank, you can buy Amazon gift card at 3% off, you can buy $2000 or more, almost no limit if I'm not mistaken. Payment via your bank balance or rewards point of you have credit card with them.

You can buy specific amount and gift card is instant, ready to use.

    • Thanks for this.

Any restrictions on the Macquarie account? I'm looking and it appears to be no fees but I'm sure there's a fine print.

Does it need deposits each month etc?

3% is ok, wish it was more but it's a start.

      • There is a limit of $2000 of Amazon gift card in one purchase, but you can always buy more if you need more. I spent about 4k in two of the months last year. The highest I ever spent was November 2022 which was 7k.

So far I know Macquarie is the safest and consistent discount you can get. I just thought if I get greedy for more discount and buy in classified/marketplace, I can get scammed and it's not reliable. Don't forget to also check cashbacks sites for Amazon purchase in case it's applicable.

Macquarie account I have is just to have this Amazon gift card exclusively. It's a transaction account. Thus interest is almost non existent. No monthly fees, no deposit needed.

Separate savings account can be opened if you interested is 4.75% per year at the moment with no requirement to do anything.

  • I still wonder where those sellers on classified get their Amazon giftcard to sell at around 10% off….

    • Gift card bought but the deals expires or they find elsewhere cheaper and they do not know what to do with the unused gift cards. They bought for 3-5% and sell it at a small lose rather than lost the entire amount.

I remember to have this $1000 Harvey Norman gift cards and used it to buy and the website decides to refund almost the entire amount due to no stock. Very silly indeed as why they have these massive no stock items in their site to be available to buy. They issued me new gift cards. Few months past before I can find something elses to buy to use the gift cards.

      • the thing with Amzn GC is that the purchasing power is great, unless it's more than couple Ks, it could be used to buy snack, drink, household item, laundry/washing/cleaning item, small equipment/gadget etc etc etc…

there's no point selling the GC, but the number of classified trading made is indeed not small. I even wonder if they sold the GC at a profit or something..

  • I was so disappointed to see the Amazon card disappear through BuPA I wish they let us know they were going and I would’ve stocked up. I just used the last of mine today.
Best thing about bupa is the life rewards. I get everything from fortnightly Woolies vouchers to JB HI-FI vouchers(in the exact amount of my purchase) so sad Amazon have gone.
Looking everywhere for a replacement that was as good as BUPA

    • I think they're back on BUPA again. I bought some a couple of days ago!

  • Bupa life rewards have returned the AMAZON GIFT CARD !!!
