Free Lightweight Frame with Any Lens Purchase at 1001 Optical

10

Hi I bought a pair of lightweight bendable glasses from 1001 optical in Sydney last week, its ultra light compare with my other metal or plastic frame.

Its pretty good deal, they told me that its a new Korean brand that they are promoting, they claim to be unbreakable, if it break they will replace a new pair for you.

Cost normally $250 for the frame, its free now and you only need to pay for the lens.

Only drawback is there isn't a lot of choices like other fashion brand eye wear.

  • HAve you tested how far they can bend?

    • They can bend for sure. I read their article on Indopost and I get it the next day. Great frame for free. Make sure you use your health insurance benefit as well.

    • they can go the full 360 without lenses in them, it's actually quite nerve-wracking to do it yourself because with any other frame you expect it to snap; but still, if you flex it way too many times and it'll snap, or at least bend in a way where it's difficult to fix .

What's their prices on the lens?

    • depends on what you coat it with i think

      • If I stay away from coating it with gold, how much would a
1.5 index lens multi coated cost?

It looks like a durable setup which is what I would like.

    • Yeah I wanna know this too, it could be $20 or $100 for all I know.

    • iirc starts from $140 1.5 index with a multicoat (aka anti-reflective coating)

  • Seems like only available in NSW, VIC and QLD stores.

    • there are only stores in NSW, VIC and QLD

  • Pretty sure it's one of the really flexible plastic ones.
I used to have a pair - they won't break, but they can deform slightly (if you bend it too much)
Mine broke at the welding joints (where it's not the bendable part)

  • ultra light? acetate ones are usually very light as it is. i think mine are about 12g iirc. i've also got a 20g set of computer glasses and to be honest i can't notice any difference between the two.

i treat my frames quite roughly (they are only $15 each) and i haven't managed to destroy them yet.
