Pre-Purchase Inspection on Imported Japanese Hybrid Cars

Looking for some insights here! Do any of you have recommendations for where to get a pre-purchase inspection done on imported Japanese hybrid cars?

Ensuring the high-voltage battery is in good shape is a top priority for me.

Any suggestions on trustworthy places or mechanics who specialise in inspecting these types of vehicles would be greatly appreciated!

Why not buy a locally delivered Honda Jazz? They are still very good on fuel although a bit gutless. No issues with HV batteries or DSG transmissions to worry about.

If you're going to get a JDM at least get something that is worth the trouble you'll have sourcing insurance and parts/service.

It either needs to be considerably cheaper or something special that you couldn't get here.

    • Good idea, I might do this actually.

  • Be sure to get the Japanese license plate too, otherwise what is even the point…

  • Are you inporting or is the vehicle already here?

If it's not in Aus it's a much bigger risk and probably not worth it

    • They are here in AU, there are quite a few in Carsales

  • How did it go?
