S24 App Compatibility Issues

Got my s24 this Arvo. Just been setting it up and I'm unable to login to the My Telstra app to move over my esim. Telstra chat said to go in-store to do it with a QR code manually, but I don't really have time.

Edit for additional context: when I attempt to login I enter my email (or any email, doesn't matter which) and press Continue and I am greeted with a white page that doesn't load and never changes.
Have reinstalled app 5 times, reset phone/network settings, cleared cache and data from app and chrome… No avail.
Even called Telstra and because I'm esim prepaid they can't even issue a new QR on their system, literally no choice but to go instore.

Also noticed I can't even open the OG Ozbargain app on my s24. I know development was halted but it was still a good app to use.

Just wondering if I'm alone in seeing these issues (particularly the Telstra one) or if anyone else is experiencing similar.

  • what is the Android version ? it shouldn't matter being a S24 but could be the Android version.

    • It's a brand new and updated base model s24. Android 14 OneUI 6.1

      • I have Android 14 + OneUI 6.0 on my S23U, I haven't encountered any app issues yet. But I haven't used Telstra or OzB apps :/

  • I've never had troubles moving my Telstra eSIM over when I've gotten a new phone but this was on my Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 8 Pro

  • I've got S24 Ultra and have no issues with OzB on it. I'm trying to think what it could be that you're experiencing.

    I have heard in the past when you use Smart Switch from Samsung to Samsung and you bring across settings that it can do some funny things.

    I transferred from my Pixel 8 Pro though so it could be that?

    • I've got S24U and just migrated from previous samsung. Can't even launch ozb app.

      • OzB app isn't being supported or updated by the OzB team.

          Still odd that it's working on yours but not mine. I have tried re-installing, clearing cache, no luck.

            @Kibbelhs: I genuinely think it has something to do with Smart Switching from a Samsung to Samsung. I've had issues before where I pull the settings over from one Samsung to another and so has a friend. We both don't transfer settings anymore.

            I went from a Pixel 8 Pro this time so could be why.

            Try a settings reset and see if that does anything :(

  • Had to go to physical telstra shop and they did esim without the app. Managed to finally log in to Telstra app after that by deleting my google account from the phone and chrome… so maybe its something to do with that.

    Still cant open Ozb app though, and now cloudflare is blocking my access on web browser for some reason lol. Anyway, all good kinda…

  • I got the same problem on my s24 ultra, the app just doesnt open at all.

  • Sam problem with my s24 ultra. Weird.

  • Likewise, OzB app has never worked on my S24U…given the issue was raised 2 months ago by the author, not sure OzB is doing anything about it ?
