Perhaps the worst show I've ever been to in my life…period!!! I felt embarrassed to be an Aussie after it.

Save the money & go to Dracula's instead…conversely, possibly one of the best nights out I've ever had! ;)

    • I've been to both and REALLY liked both. I truly enjoyed the Outback Spectacular. Both are good nights out.

If you're not into Australian culture you're not going to enjoy OBS. If you are, then you will.

Going to both again in December.

      • That's not Australian culture, I grew up in the bush and most of my family were drovers & stockmen so I have a better idea than most when I'm getting conned. Sorry, but real Aussie culture is nothing like the pseudo-American cowboy drivel OBS portrays as bush life. That in itself is shameful.

Then there's the blatant price gouging & demand that you turn up hours before the show in an extremely disorganised fashion; only to be locked in that stinking hot tin shed like a mob of sheep. The service is terrible, and you're forced to pay exhorbitant prices for drinks, photos & souveneirs whilst some piss-poor excuse for a singer assails your ears with his awful put-on Aussie drawl from the back of an old ute. Actually, IIRC more time was spent in the pre-show ripoff than the paid 'entertainment'!

Sorry, but that's not entertainment…POW's don't get treated that badly!!! Then the supplied Aussie 'bush tucker' they served as the main meal was nothing but a meagre portion of randomly assigned poorly cooked slop with a bloody lunch roll - which they had the gall to call damper! The only redeeming quality was the horsemanship, admittedly that was pretty good, but at ~$70/head not good enough to save the evening I'm afraid.

Dracula's OTOH, is a very well organised, comfortable, high quality production with good food & service, friendly staff and everybody walks out smiling…unlike OBS, where a ridiculous number of people were happy to voice their dissatisfaction to the staff & other patrons. Chalk & cheese IMHO!

        • I know you meant it as a joke, but it is pretty bad humour. I'm sure a POW would rather see this show rather than being tortured by their captors!

I know i'd rather take my young boy to a horse show than expose him to a dude trying to suck scantly clad ladies blood. Even I would prefer to see the horses!

        • Feigned indignance over a POW joke…or is it real…FFS, how soft are you? I suppose you've never watched Hogan's Heroes either eh??? Somebody please hold a a palm so I can slam my face into it!

a dude trying to suck scantly clad ladies blood.

Umm, derp??? Dracula's is the name of the establishment…not the show itself…it's not frickin Twilight!!!

The shows do run along a variety of supernatural themes, but not necessarily always to do with vampires…last time I went they were doing Rocky Horror! Yeah, it's for adults…time for you to grow up…but then I suppose you don't let your kids watch Harry Potter either??? I have the waaambulance on speed dial if you need it…

Yeah, you're limited in choices if you're taking kids, but if you're happy to pay top dollar for a shit show with poor production values & continuity, go for it. TBH, if you want kiddie entertainment you'd be far better off taking your kids to one of the Disney on Ice type shows IMHO…or Movie World, they've got horsies there for you too my precious! ;)

        • Seriously man chill out. At least with hogans heroes I know it was to be taken in light heartedness considering the laugh track, unlike the tone of your OP.

I stand corrected on the Dracula's show, I have driven past a number of times and it cetainly looks like I would expect blood sucking and vampires should I have gone to a show :)

EDIT: I went to OBS a number of years ago now and had a great night, I enjoyed the food and the entertainment. I was considering going back again earlier this year but the prices had increased a lot, had this promo been around we probably would have gone back again.

        • Ok, so you don't get sarcasm…just re-read my OP with the voice of Sgt Schultz or Col Klink. That oughta slapstick it up for ya! ;)

          Hooogggaaannn!!!

I could tell you've never been to Dracula's, and were just assuming it was vampires! But then, that's the problem…we both know the problem with the word ass-u-me! :)

        • Sorry missed the HH referencing in your original post, I do ordinarily pick up on sarcasm! I've added the sarcasm soundtrack and have given you the benefit of the doubt on second read :)

So there really is no blood sucking of scantily clad women then? Hardley seems very dracular(ish) IMO

        • IIRC, the blood sucking happens across the road at Jupiters after the show! ;)

I just checked the website & they are doing some sort of vampire variety show ATM, but I can't imagine it being too scary anyway. Plus, they also have Drax 4 kids…

        • Yeah I notice the Drax 4 Kids too!

  • Spectacular, Spectacular
    No words in the vernacular
    Can't describe this great event
    You'll be dumb with wonderment

Cheesy Australiana strictly only for tourists. Couldn't pay me to go.
