Kayo 4K & Pricing Changes - What Are You Going to Do with The Upcoming Changes?

Got an email from Kayo this morning about their pricing/package update.

Kayo is 'removing' of their premium package, and moving everyone off Premium to Basic plan, also will be increasing the $30 basic plan to $35. Which means from 14th Feb 2024, only 2 screen can be streamed simultaneously and content… will including 4k, guessing probably NOT all sports, but whatever is available.

Not exactly impressed with this change.

Curious on how is everyone going to navigate around the account sharing?

What this means for you:
- Our Kayo Premium package will no longer be available. On your next billing date from 14 February 2024, you will be migrated to our Kayo Basic package. The number of devices you can stream on at once will change from 3 to 2

  • If you are currently earning Qantas Points, from 14 February your monthly points will change to 100 points for every month you stay subscribed

  • If you've had an offer applied, you will continue to receive this discount after you have been migrated to Kayo Basic, until your offer ends. You will then commence earning 100 Qantas Points for every month you stay subscribed thereafter

4K* streaming will arrive in March 2024 on Kayo Sports including NRL, AFL, Formula 1, Cricket & Netball content.

    • Hahaha to be fair I couldn’t agree more. Except wanted to watch formulae 1 😆 but given the price increase prob not worth the price tag. 🥲

        I just watch the highlight reel on YouTube now. Used to be a hardcore fan but its been a 1 horse race for virtually the last decade except for the crossover year between merc and rbr in 2021. Not worth spending the money on now.

        • The Minis are available on Kayo Freebies. Slightly longer than the YT highlights.

      • Just go to sites like sport surge. Not posting a direct link for obvious reasons, but that's how I have been watching every single race for the last few years with no payments to uncle rupert.

      My sub is “$15 off” each month, so presumably will reflect changed price tiers.

      • I have the jbhifi offer (6 months free) which says it ends at the end of May. I’m already on the basic plan anyway so not sure anything would change?

          Assuming if it’s free for 6months… it would still remain free… surely they wouldn’t charge you $5 for the remaining period? :/

          If you didn’t get any emails from Kayo, I guess it remains free! :D

          Kinda annoying coz I’m splitting with another 2 persons. Maybe have to boot someone out.. unless comes up with some sorta schedule 🥲

  • I only pay for Kayo during F1 season. Always makes sure to cancel it at the earliest moment I can whilst still getting the final race.

    A lot of OBers are digital members of their favorite AFL club (except Sydney Lions and West Coast). I'm a Lions member, at $242 for 12 months. Happens to include 12 months of Kayo Basic.

    Your current Kayo, '6 months of Kayo with JB HiFi' offer is ending soon. That means from 13/02/2024 you’ll enjoy Kayo, 'Premium' for $35/mth. You don’t have to do anything as this will happen automatically.

      • maybe some of us loyal subscribers are getting their plan grandfathered!!!

        We know Foxtel love their loyal customers and reward them 😋

        • Hmm, I can't even view my Subscription & billing info after the update they did… contacted Kayo support and pending on their tech support reply now

          • @nightfever: i got three email the other day saying they're screwing me over. i was just after the 3 streams, even with the price rise, i would have been happy as my father & father-in-law both piggy back off my account. i don't want to miss the footy, but i don't want tech support 'its not working ' calls either.

            • @M00Cow: Ohhh… noo.. so sorry to hear that. I am also after the 3 streams but at this stage, I cannot even view my billings. Ive contacted Kayo the other day, I haven't heard back from them. No idea what it means… :( Probably will have to try contact them again if I don't hear from them in the next few days.

              Have you checked your account and see what it's showing for billing and subscription?

    Is anyone with an offer applied getting 'This offer is not available or may have expired' in 'My Account'? And no buttons available below to manage billing?

      I contacted them on the 23rd Feb about the same issue, they said they're going to get back to me. Ive yet heard anything from them… :\

        What a joke. I just have an empty Visa/Mastercard gift card saved on the account so I cannot pay them since the gift card buttons aren't accessible. You'd think support could load one for me but nope, only 'another team' can do it. And they provided an ETA of 3-5 business days. To copy and paste two numbers and click one button 👏👏👏. They better not restrict access.

        In fact they aren't even able to see what your gift card account balance is which is unfathomable.

        @nightfever is your account currently getting paid off with the saved payment methods or not?

          I have a giftcard balance in there but I have no idea how much is left 😅 I also cannot see the information. Nor do I remember if I ever had a card saved in the payment information.. also cannot see it neither 🙄 bloody disaster and a bunch of shemozzle.
