How to Buy an OLED SteamDeck in the USA...

Please note this does involve a trip to the USA… not for everyone, but if you know someone going this might help.

It's not widely publicized yet, but GameStop stores in the US are starting to retail Steamdecks, as of Dec '23. At the moment the rollout is limited & it's only to the major stores in the large shopping malls.

The pricing is the same as direct from Steam, 512gb is $549 & $649 for the 1TB (USD, plus state taxes which vary). You have to call around, stock is patchy but we managed to get one in a mall in Miami.

The LCD models were more widely available, all the big mall stores had these in stock, the OLED ones were harder to find. Charging isn't an issue, they take a USB C charger anyway.

      We were lucky enough to be there. It's just the first time a bricks and mortar store has started selling them :)

    US steam account, mail forwarder and payment via USD(eg. Wise) is much easier and doesn't involve a trip to the USA.

      We tried that & failed miserably, they will only mail to a 'residential' address in the US. We even tried a mail delivery service where it ships to a pickup place whilst we were in the US.
