VentraIP are boarding the .xyz domain bandwagon. If you’re a VIP Rewards member you can claim a domain in this namespace for free, everyone else can buy one for only $2.95 (can be had cheaper elsewhere if you need to buy). This applies to the first year only, price increases to $25/yr thereafter.

Transfer to PorkBun for $11USD a year after?
Or even better CloudFlare for A$10.18.
Then you're forced to use Cloudflare. No thanks. Spaceship at US$9.17, Cloudflare is $10.18 USD, not AUD.
@ldd-mn: I’ve had no issues with cloud flare and their DNS management is easy too. Including tunnels and everything it’s great.
@Commodore64: I haven't really either, but it's good to be given options. Cloudflare has basically no support for free users either.
@ldd-mn: Is that the only thing turning you off from CloudFlare for domains? I have my domains there and hosting elsewhere with 0 issues. No need to contact support.
@Clear: Yes, it's a pretty major feature. I don't like being locked into a single company for both registrar and DNS as I prefer to keep those seperate. What if Cloudflare goes down (unlikely but look at what happened late last year)? I can't change to my secondary DNS, at least not that I know of. Correct me if I'm wrong though :)
VentraIP customer service is top notch. 24/7 Australian support. You probably won't need it with a domain, but they've been great with my hosting.
Domains with numbers only 6-9 characters (123456.xyz) are like a buck renewal each year
why would you want a .xyz domain in the first place?
To send SPAM emails from. Of course.
It's easier to remember than abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvw.com
cuz google and apple dotcoms are taken.
Also for sending toll renewal scams from
I have an xyz domain with godaddy. I wonder if it better to transfer to these guys. I haven't had issues with godaddy (i only have 1 domain) but I know some people in the past have said they are terrible.
25 a year later, no thanks.
