DealsDirect Turns Its Back on Daily Deals - DealMe closes

In news announced today, the DealsDirect Group has opted to close its daily deals site, ‘DealMe’.
The DealMe site has been in the group buying space for around a year, but as the market for these offerings is already hotly competed, Deals Direct’s management have chosen not to pursue the model and further.

Deals Direct had a similar setup as CatchoftheDay / Scoopon. A bit of worrying sign that DD was not able to be successful with DealMe.

  • I think that in Perth all that was offered was crappy products, not services and experiences. With the internet, everyone has an ability to find crappy products at cheap prices, so why go through a group buy site where the actual provider of the product is shielded?
