PC keyboard & mouse to control Android via bluetooth?

Hi,

Our workplace has blocked web email services (like yahoo, gmail etc) and monitor our internet usage, so I tend to use my mobile phone (Galaxy S3) for browsing and emailing.

I thought of buying a bluetooth keyboard and a mouse to pair up with the phone, however, I am wondering whether I can pair up my PC's keyboard and the mouse (via an bluetooth adapter connected to the PC) with the phone.

Otherwise, I can connect the phone to the PC via USB. Is there a way to use PC keyboard/mouse to type on the phone then?

I am aware of the numerous list of similar applications, (eg. Air Droid, Lazy Droid), but those applications don't support using Gmail, Internet (and other apps) on the phone via PC's keyboard/mouse.

  • I have a similar situation and have used a USB OTG cable ($4 from an Australian ebay seller) with a spare keyboard when I've needed to type up something long.

Just tried wifi keyboard as mentioned above on my home setup and it seems to work great. It does rely on the PC and the phone being on the same wifi network though (ie they need to be able to see each other). You can use the same program via a USB cable but that requires ADB/Android SDK. Haven't tried the latter but neither of these would work with my particular work setup (no wifi, unable to install own apps), though you might have better luck.

  • Your Samsung galaxy S3 supports a USB hub.

    Go buy
A USB Hub (powered or unpowered, does not matter)
    1 OTG cable
    HDMI cable for Samsung GS3

Connect the USB hub to your phone using the OTG cable.
Connect your mouse and keyboard to said hub.
Connect your phone via HDMI cable to a monitor.

And there you have it, you can web browse on your SGS3 on a monitor just like you do with a desktop.

Whenever you want to return to real work, unplug the USB hub from your phone and stick in back into your desktop. No need for bluetooth connection.
