"designed to shield precious automobiles from exposure to tough conditions such as harsh UV"

But no mention of UV protection in the spec.

    • +1

Due to the UV coating and the synthetic fabric material, it is not recommended to use detergent as it will dissolve the UV coating.

    • +5

for the cost of 4 coffees, you need to know UV spec?

i mean if you have a range rover and don't have a carspace, go buy a $400 proper cover ;)

  • Thanks OP - love your work!

  • +1

Would this fit a tesla model y?

    • +7

      Keen to know as well
      I’ll get the cover
And then save up for the car 😅

    • +2

      Cover:

      Length: 480 cm
      Width: 192 cm
      Height: 154 cm

      Tesla Model Y:

      Length: about 475 cm
Width: about 192 cm without mirrors (and around 208 cm with mirrors)
      Height: about 162 cm

  • Thanks bro! Grabbed one!

  • I guess these would be good to protect your car in a hail storm?

    • +1

I imagine you could put some padding like a quilt under it

      • +1

Correct, I also found that you might as well put a tarp held down by sandbags/concrete plastics over the car cuz even moderately strong winds just take it right off.

        • Not in my experience but products differ in quality. I bought a Coverall Gold Protection cover a few years ago for storms. Correct size for my Prado, and I tied it down securely as you should in bad weather. Did a very good job against wind and moderate hail, albeit with some additional cover underneath.

  • +2

FWIW they tend to scratch your car overtime. Not perfect, but it is better than nothing.

    • Yes - big time. Don’t leave your covered car in a windy spot!

  • Any problems if I use a large cover for a small car?

    • +6

Wind will pick it up like a giant sail

      • I always wanted to sail ⛵️

      • +1

To bypass traffic jams, pack as parachute.

    • +1

If its indoors sure a large cover is fine, If its outdoors no good the air will constantly flip the cover and scratch it.
The sale is on all different sizes too not just large.

    • +2

It will just look to embarrassing like using a large condom.

  • Won't let me select delivery, and all available stores in NSW are in woop woop 😭

    • +1

Select the nearest and see if delivery is offered. You might get lucky. My local didn't have the one I wanted but c&c and delivery were offered when I changed store, admittedly only 12 m away in the same city.

  • these do more damage than good. sure it stops it from getting dust in return for scratching up your paint work

  • +1

    Great deal, thanks OP.

As a bonus I discovered that I have a few loyalty points (didn't know they had a loyalty program) which can be used on a limited range of Repco-selected items. Better than a slap in the face with a wet fish. Check your account.

  • If you covered up your car and it's on the street or on driveway… does that attract break ins to house / car?

    • If that's your only car, probably yes.
That's why I keep mine away from sight when I am away.

      • got a pic? hahaha

        • a pic for what? I just park it at the back of my house.

  • FYI: There is a slightly smaller one @ Kmart for $22
    https://www.kmart.com.au/product/large-car-cover-42245667/
It's big enough for a regular sedan, and some review says it's big enough for a 4WD.

    For any that are interested there is a whole page of these from Extra Large 4WD to Utes to motorbikes and everything in between. Enter your postcode and then sort by price;
    https://www.repco.com.au/car-seat-covers-car-accessories/ext…

  • What was the normal price for these?
    Edit: $59 to $99

  • Heavy duty vs medium duty?

  • Or wait for the quality $99 hail cover from Aldi.

  • Thanks OP, secured one from Bathurst :)

  • Breathable 4 layer fabric

Is this good as a blind for a nap at the park/beach?

This does not fit your vehicle.

The dimensions 480x192x154 should fit my i30 (467x182x143) perfectly but why? Should I just buy it?

    • You also have to factor that your car is 3 dimentional and needs lextra length to cover the curvature of the front and rear. So no it wont fit unless you want to partially to see your front and rear bumper

      • I think SUV should be slightly larger than i30 hatchback

        • +1

Then buy it! It's only $20. You can't even get a restaurant meal for that price these days.

          • @vinni9284: Too late showing OOS everywhere :(

            • @bcYield: You have to just jump. I'm sure you can always return unopened if you suffer from buyers remorse

              • @vinni9284: True I forgot about the free return but it's ok as I think it was already OOS by the time I checked the dimensions because I couldn't see the cart.

I have dealer paint protection so I don't need to worry it's outside all the time.

    • Who asked? 😅

  • Thanks ,
    bought two ,
a small one for the camper trailer and an xl for the 4B .

  • My car is old already, I'm wondering if there would be any benefit of using this? I understand it would slow colour deterioration on newer cars but unsure if it could benefit me ATM.

  • Wondering if this can be used as a cover for a kayak ?
