    Any deals on 77?

    • +1

      Just clicked on the link….No

      • 77 is amazing, pulled the trigger before Xmas

    • $4.4k on Samsung education store (40% off RRP).
Can probably get it down to $3.5k if use 15% coupon + 5% app + $100 trade in.

      • Does 15% loyalty code work on edu store?

        • Not sure about TVs, but they did for S24U

        • No it doesn’t, or at least didn’t work for me in Dec “23.

Ended up price matching with JB Hi-fi and used the 10% off gift cards to bring the price down. TV is superb (paired with the Q990C). 😊

    • +3

77 inch S90C is $3739 on edu store, before any voucher discounts if you can stack.

  • +1

    must. resist.

    • +5

This is literally the cheapest it's been for a while now haha, even without the discount codes.

      • I know, but my old 60" Samsung SUHD from 2016 is still chugging along for now, so can't really justify it.

        • I’d personally also want a bigger tv than 65” if you’re upgrading anyway

  • +9

Stacked with 15% loyalty code + 5% first app purchase code. Ended up being $2,018 - very happy!

    • How'd you get the loyalty code?

      • Thanks, updated post.

        • +2

$1937 with trading up old tv, working or otherwise. I tried it with my now dead LG 65" LCD (5% + 15% + trade up)

          • @Bargainizer: Nice. I thought the trade up had to work? (Not like they will test it)

      • Good question, I'm interested too. Do you just ask in chat for a code or what?

Edit: Asked in chat if there were any discount codes I could use. They asked me to take a picture of a serial number of a Samsung product I own. Generated the 10% off code. Done!

      • I’d like to know too, best I can do is 10%?

        • +1

Asked 2 ppl and they could only do 10%

  • Someone on this site last year said Samsung QLED have less issues than OLED …?

    • +13

      This is an OLED TV.

Also, whoever said that was trying to justify a bad purchase.

    • +1

May be they were referring to burn in issue, which is more prevalent with OLED when compared with QLED but looking at the screen brightness and colours, OLED will always be better than QLED.

      • +4

Qled is brighter. OLED is vastly superiour in every other way.

        • Thanks for correction. Yes, you are right.

        • +1

OLED gives you unbeatable native contrast ratios, but most of them will require a dark room to truly shine. If you're watching tv in a room without blackout curtains, you're better off using a QLED with strong local dimming capabilities. Top end QLEDs can still reach incredible contrast ratios without self-emitting pixels.

      • Yes that’s what it was, the burn in issue

    • Last gen b series had some oled issues

  • Thanks Stig looks like still full price damm maybe that will be next after they run out the 65

    • Haven't seen too many 77 deals recently. Looking for one myself.

      • Let me me know if you find any please happy to do the same might need to wait to March

  • +10

I am so used to Dolby Vision though….

    • +1

Then you probably shouldn’t buy this

      • Is Dolby Vision really all that? Is it the Gold Standard that should be the benchmark?

        • +1

It's the same as HDR10+ where the key aspect is dynamic tonemapping, it's just about adoption rates. Regular HDR10 signals get processed and dynamically tonemapped by all TVs these days though, and the Samsung is no exception.

So the real world difference is more limited than you might think - and given HDR10+ is royalty free - will probably dissipate over time.

Get an NVIDIA Shield with the money you save

      • +9

That won’t get them DV though?

  • Tempting. Trying to resist by rationalizing that I don't want to risk any drama with the One Connect Box…and that that more affordable LG OLEDs with MLA would be worth the wait…

  • Out of interest for those looking - the one connect for the 77 is huge and the cable is quite thick. I say this as i was expecting one like The Frame which i also have (3mm thick?) vs the S95C which is about 7mm (i think) so bear that in mind when looking at pics where you intend to have the cable trailing down a wall - its definitely not invisible if you are comparing to models like The Frame etc…

Any tips to get the 15% last time could only get 10

  • Goddamn I just got a 65 G3 for 1k more… Not that the G3 is anything less than spectacular but damn the value here is unreal.

    • If I had a G3 I would be happy and wouldn’t be looking unless the tv died.

    • Mind sharing where you got the 65 G3 for that price currently?

      • Got during Black Friday but you can't find it below 5k anymore.

        • Soon enough they will be clearing last year's OLEDs.

I doubt new models will drop in price either.

  • That's extremely tempting. Does anyone know how this compares against the Sony A95K or L. Apart from OS.

    • Sony got a little extra brightness out of the A95L. The Sony handle low quality sources and motion better.

The Sony has Dolby Vision on paper but the EOTF tracking is off so I wouldn’t chalk that up as a plus for the Sony.

The Samsung is better for gaming.

      • What does EOTF tracking is off for sony a95L?

It cant/wont be fixed by firmware update?

        • Dolby Vision EOTF is over bright in the lower-end leading to raised shadows and posterisation.

They can fix it in firmware and I’m not sure if they have yet.

    • Thanks everyone, sold me on it.

im trying to buy it. ive got the 5% discount for using the phone app, and i asked live chat for a loyalty code and got a 10% one off.
stacked its coming to $2124.57. how are some people getting a 15% loyalty code?

edit: nevermind, looks like its out of stock now.

      • edit the second: looks like stock comes and goes. managed to grab one as of 23/01-11:50am.

  • +6

Live chat closed. Credit card is safe, for now.

  • Live chat is asking for a photo of the serial number lol Anyone have one?

  • +2

Go on Gumtree or Facebook marketplace to find serial numbers of second hand TV for sale

    https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/docklands/tvs/samsung-ua60h6…

    • What do you do when they come to collect the tv during delivery?

  • So tempting. Crazy price.

  • They're so slow tonight. Took like an hour to get me a discount code and now it's out of stock.

    • Saaame…. so frustrating, was so keen and excited to buy.

      • it takes them even more time to deliver

      • -3

        Might’ve got the last one…

  • +1

Thanks OP! Was close to ordering the S90C the other day for more than this! $2030 with an existing voucher I had from live chat and the 5%

  • +1

Guys how is 85" the frame QLED..i think I am getting like 50% off on it and price might come to $1899.. Should I buy this one?

    • My sister has the frame tv. Coming from a oled owner I can see the purpose behind the tv design but picture quality is bad. Not FFalcon bad but the glass has a strong matte coating which dull the vibrancy. Don’t expected to be “wow” from watching.

      • Depends looks great for ghibli type animation though. So might be good for those that like anime or Disney type animations lol.

    • Was looking at it but my research ended up with majority of feedback not being for my needs. Recommend this guide and sub https://www.reddit.com/r/HTBuyingGuides/comments/12i0dk9/hom…

  • Has Samsung fixed their delivery yet? Last purchase was a crap experience

  • This seems like a price error.

    • Why maybe they are clearing out stock to make way for new models

      • Says "Save $2499 off RRP. Hurry, offer ends 29.02.24!" so hopefully they will restock.

  • Oos

  • Priced matched through jbhifi before this was OOS

    • What price did they price match? Assume they wouldn’t price match the loyalty or app discount?

  • Ozbargained

  • wait for stock

  • I have the 65" s95b and the OS is a bit laggy compared to cheaper non oled samsung that my friend's got. TV is great just the OS is a bit slow.

    • Would second this. TV picture quality though is really good. Really, really good. No regrets.

    • +1

I third this. My s95b is significantly slower then my frame. Bit annoyed.

    • Have you tried a factory reset?

      • the device care feature helps a little but still it's not as snappy as other cheaper samsung tvs

    • One tip is to get pihole on your network. Removed a lot of the ads from the OS and made it faster. Probably other ways you can do this with your router if you know what to block as well.

  • how does this compare to my 65" CX, worth upgrading?

    • +1

From the reviews i've seen this is comparable/better in some ways than the G3.

The G3 being better than the C3.. which is a few gens newer than the CX.

However, if the CX is working fine I don't see the reason to shell out the $$ to upgrade?

In any case… it seems stock has run out for now.

    • +1

      No. Save your money

  • +3

Hey guys, there was some stock available this morning around 0630 but now it’s out of stock. It seems to be intermittently in stock.

    • +2

      You're right just grabbed one…

Trading in old non functioning TV for $100 credit.

Didn't get same price as OP but all up my price was $2039.

That's with 10% loyalty, 5% app and $100 TV trade in.

  • Back in stock gogogo

  • +3

Yep 2039 with $100 tv trade in discount.
Very happy now i just have to tell the wife…..

    • Haha we are in a similar boat. 65 inch is gonna look BIG in my living room.

      • Same with me. Checked again . Now OOS it was destiny…… they only added 2 and we got them. Lol.
Better to ask for forgiveness than permission……

  • Back in stock at 1152 hrs melb time.

  • +1

I paid $2124 (with 10% discount code + 5% first time app discount.)

    Happy!

  • They are trick-feeding the stock to create the FOMO effect, a good sales technique.

    • +1

The crazy cheap price is another good sales technique 😉

    • Did you mean "drip" feeding?
