Avoid Samsung Like The Plague

Avoid Saumsung like the plague! They are quick to do a sale but can't execute or deliver. There is also no customer service.

  1. Order made 2 months ago (and paid for) via app was only partly delivered.

  2. Samsung informed me that it unilaterally decided to cancel the unfulfilled part of the order. I said no you are not going to do that. I told them I bought over $300 worth of goods and needed the whole bundle to claim GST when I travel this week! They can't just decide not to deliver something because they sold it during one of the campaigns and now regret it!

  3. Customer Service is absolutely non-existent.

  4. Sure, you can get through to someone on the telephone after waiting for 30 minutes and yes they are all very sorry and empathetic with the wait, but they have such an overwhelming volume of calls that basically they spend all day apologising and nothing gets done!

  5. I have spent well over 10 hours trying to get my order from 2 months ago fulfilled!

CONCLUSION: AVOID Samsung like the plague.

    • Been benefiting from collective wisdom but too lazy too contribute on ozbargain, until I got so stirred by Samsung's nonsense. Anyway, finally got the watch after I got BACK from the trip. GST claim forfeited.

    • Thanks, now I've learnt too, gonna go back to apple. Annoying it still doesn't support myki, but myki is getting scrapped soon anyway.

  • Can't you claim partial GST amount? Or if you still have the original invoice, claim the whole amount 😈

    • I think you need minimum of $300 per ABN to be eligible for the claim, and you need to have that item present for them to look.

      • Are you talking about GST credits for business purposes?

        • They're talking about going overseas and claiming gst via TRS

        That includes Samsung's members app, Facebook page, product review, live chat, support.

    Sadly, that's the reality of shopping with Samsung. You need to factor this into the various deals through Samsung.

    You could try emailing the office of the CEO. Some people have had luck doing that.

    PS: have you thought about a switch to a iPhone 15 pro max edition to punish Samsung?

        416 complaints. Qantas had 160. Qantas need to step up their game.

    • Thing is with FairTrading and ACCC they do nothing to support individual cases, sure you can make a complaint but it stops there when you submit it. Someone may follow up but they can't enforce anything and the companies can get away with not resolving any complaints.

      This is why large retail companies like Samsung, Apple, eBay, Sony, JB HI FI, Car dealerships such as Mazda and others need an Ombudsman.

    Yes they do finance, they have the best Boss (so he claims) He has the best dog!
    And you get the most secure and reliable mobile network.

  • As somebody who had the same issue for multiple orders of much higher value more than a year ago, I understand where you are coming from. It's crazy to see that Samsung has not fixed/improved their processes year in more than a year.

    I have since never placed an order with Samsung directly even though I have been tempted by pre-order deals etc.

  • What did you buy? Interested to know what they canned

    • Watch(face) and watchband (not sure why they are even separately charged / shipped at checkout)

      Samsung shipped the belt but not the watch and wanted to cancel the watch.

  • I'm 100% with the OP on this - If you want a Samsung product buy it from another retailers and pray you never need warranty outside of the first year.
