Trying to work out if my credit card (Westpac Altitude Black) covers car rental excess when travelling in Australia. I know it covers overseas but does anyone know if it also covers car rental excess when renting in Australia if the entire price of the rental is paid for with Westpac card?

PDS says that you only get complimentary travel insurance overseas, that can be checked here: https://travel.agaassistance.com.au/westpac/travel-insurance
If you put in Australia here, you are not eligible.
However have found on page 76 of the PDS there is a local insurance excess policy too.

Rental Vehicle Excess in Australia Insurance
Part A – Eligibility for Cover.
Not all insurance covers are available for all Westpac cards or all cardholders
and different conditions may also be available for different cardholders, so
please refer to each Part of this insurance to determine the complimentary
insurance benefits that may be available to you.
Eligibility for the cover available depends upon the type of Westpac
card you have.
Who is eligible?
Level 1 Card and Level 2 Card cardholders are eligible when the entire
payment for the vehicle rental was charged to the accountholder’s
card account.
Part B – Period of Cover.
The cover available begins when you collect the rental vehicle from the rental
vehicle company or agency you have entered into a rental vehicle agreement
with and ends when you return the rental vehicle to the rental vehicle
company or agency or the expiry of the rental vehicle agreement, whichever
occurs earlier.You'll still be up for a $300 excess though for the claim.
