  • Probably better than my A14 5g , but at extra cost ! Will this get android 14 , 15 , i wonder ?

    • Motorola G phones usually get at least one android update eventually (14)

      • Maybe better sticking to what i have then !

Reports of JB doing the G84 @ $290 + del:

I called Goodguys support yesterday and asked for best price they could do. Got offered $289+$3 delivery. But goodguys only have the midnight blue in stock unlike JB where even the magneta is on the same price as midnight blue ($349) and is available.

I called the Good Guys support line twice today and spoke to 2 different people - both of them were adamant that the cheapest they could do the G84 was about $330. Looks like you got lucky!

  • Esim?

    • No. Physical dual SIM

I've been using this phone for more than a month, and overall, it's a fantastic device, with the exception of the camera. I paid $228.09 in JB HiFi credit for the phone, and personally, I believe a price closer to $240 would be a reasonable deal.

  • Bought from jb deal last time. Loving it. Camera is not that good other then that its work really good. No Esim.

Just curious what's the benefit of Esim? Esims seem complicated to swap around. Isn't it easier to just keep a sim tray pin in the phone case?

      • I actually still prefer physical. Esim is just that you can activate and use straightway. No need to go to store or wait for sim to arrive. Also like i have 14pro and it only have 1 sim tray but you can add another if you have esim. Moto is dual sim but you have to choose if you wanna put sd card or sim in second slot so if they had esim support, you could put sd card and still use two sims.

  • Good specs but I chose the TCL 20 Pro 5G for around the same price since it has a decent camera and Qi charging

    • That phone was released in 2021, do you know how many years of updates you get?

      • Probably won't get updated past 12. Doesn't bother me

      • Great phone imo. Worked solidly, up until i cracked the screen. I don't think they've ever released an update though.

Looking for deals on the Motorola Edge 40! Some impressive specs on that phone

No root, or custom roms :(

    • Yer that's what stopping me from jumping on this

  • Just bought it for 330 delivered yesterday from their eBay store with a $20 coupon

  • This Moto g84 or the Poco x6?

  • this is better than the pixel cause it doesn't overheat?

  • Does anyone know if the 12GB of RAM (or other specs) will be a noticeable upgrade over the Moto G62 which only has 4GB?

    • +1

Hmmm 'noticeable' depends on i guess technically, if it does not do anything you need it to do currently. Or new feature you want. Or if it's just an older phone that runs slow. Anyway.

      Yes, according to here

From a comparison here, honestly, i mean it will be an upgrade, but will it blow you out of the water on all the new cool features? No. There's really just Optical Image Stabilisation for the camera.

BUT it does have a newer CPU so it might run faster and more smoothly.

    Moto's still making phones!

      Thanks for the confirmation. 👍

  • I got mine yesterday and it's pretty OK for the price. A few annoying things you can't change in the settings but overall pretty good. Although i would have rather kept my s20fe if i didnt crack the screen it's still going excellent for 3 year old phone and battery is just as new. I hope the moto one lasts at least 2 years without an issue.

  • NFC (market/region dependent) and FM radio (market/region dependent)?

  • Bought this for family member.

Seems excellent for the price and actually pretty decent all round. Surprised that it comes with a decent clear case. Fast. Good camera.

Doesn't come with a transfer cable. You need a cable that connects to your old Android phone and to USB C (or standard charger cable from old phone and USB A to USB C adapter). I used the adapter that came with my Pixel. I guess there is some other way to do it but a cable is easy.

    • Second that, good phone - no gripes so far. Having trouble doing away with the battery anxiety acquired through the lg V30 (4yo).

Don't need USB C-C cable, can just transfer wirelessly (slower).
