Alessi Plisse Electricity Kettle 1L Was $93 (Was $155) + $10 Delivery ($0 with $100 Order/ DJ AmEx Member) @ David Jones

90

Discounted kettle I have been eyeing for months - made in thermoplastic resin and comes with anti-limscale filter.
If you're looking for smaller volume kettles -not the usual 1.7L then this could be an option to consider, there's not too many in the market.

**I had the Bodum 500ml kettle but the lid broke when I accidentally dropped it.

Am I missing something? $93 for a plastic kettle? Beside the aesthetics, what makes it so special?

It's an electricity kettle. The very latest innovation.

    • I'm also astounded at the ways people will spend money on a kettle like this too. I'm perfectly happy with my 10 year old kmart $5 one.

Holding it in person, this thing feels surprisingly cheap, Kmart has better quality kettles.

  • Another option for a small kettle is the Russell Hobbs 800ml stainless one. They are reasonably priced at around $55-$59.

Had one for a couple of years now, boils very quickly and takes up less space as it is relatively slim..

Thanks OP. Bought 2. The first one is for making tea and the second one for boiling water to throw at intruders. I like to multitask.

I have this kettle in the full size and find it to be good. Quiet compared to our last one. I haven't really felt the need for a smaller kettle as you just add the water you want but maybe there's a reason I'm missing.

I’ve got the 1.7l version. Looks lovely as an appliance on the kitchen bench. Just need to find a suitable four slice toaster to match. Any ideas?

My $7.50 Kmart kettle uses electricity too.. I didn't know this was something worthy of marketing

Ya know I have a couple of Alessi products but even I draw the line at this.

    $330 for a toilet brush?

  • $93 for a plackie kettle is mental IMO. If it was metal - fair enough for the design, but plastic? Nope
Would get this Kmart one instead https://www.kmart.com.au/product/17l-fluted-kettle-black-432…
Or better still if its just a plastic kettle https://www.kmart.com.au/product/17l-cordless-kettle-4198932…

  • This kettle in white looks very appealing too.

Breville do 1L kettles in both non-glass and glass variants

  • The micro plastics thing just freaked me out on this. Looks great but I try to stay away from plastics when it comes to eating and drinking.

    • I guess you’re right.
