  • Is this comparable to any AliExpress offerings?

Why do I need a fitness tracker? I've got a built-in tracker in me head.

If I'm out of breath, I'm probably unfit. If I'm not, well, I'm doing alright. Don't need a watch telling me I'm a lazy lump. I've got a mirrored wall for that

    • Monitor ya progress, you can get fitter faster by working in heart rate zones, HIIT workouts require your HR to get to a certain point.

Tru but, you don't NEED it…

3 people have no sense of humour my dude.
I bet someone shit in their cornflakes.
Btw, got $3.50? I need to replace my cornflakes….

    Strava uploading sounds good

  • Reminds me of the Xiaomi band 4c back in the day. That was terrible though and the band design made it difficult to put on one handed.

It's crazy these things can be produced for so cheap that they can profit off $30 sale.

  • Wonder if a HR tracking app would be able to receive data from this i.e. Strava/ Wahoo etc?

  • Does this band do phone notifications like the old Xiaomi 4C? Aka vibrations etc , thats basically the only feature I need due to hearing degradation. My old Xiaomi band 6 is on its last legs.

    • Notifications are easily handled by most activity trackers nowadays, but it's really the companion app that can make or break it. I would stick with a well known brand like Xiaomi / Amazfit since the app gets frequent updates and will continue to get updates in the future.

We don't know what kind of janky app this watch requires and whether it's actually safe to use.

The latest Xiaomi band is not that expensive either. $45 for the budget variant with a normal TFT display. Or about 60 for the premium variant with nicer OLED display.

Does any one know what brand this is? I'm trying to figure out if they have an app on iOS and whether that app uses HealthKit to pass data to iOS Health app.

  • worth a shot for 30$

Did anybody buy one and have any thoughts they would care to share, please?

    • Yeah I grabbed it. Seems to be ok. Heart rate tracker definitely isn't 100% but a guide.
      Apps actually not bad.

One word of warning it won't connect to the app if you have the watch on when you install it. Very odd problem but googling it seems common.

      • Thanks for the tip. I bought one, but as yet have not opened it (I know the Aldi 'No questions asked' returns policy, but I don't want to abuse it).
Does it have a countdown timer, stopwatch and alarm on it?

I have an old FitBit Charge 2 which is still going wel, but needs a new strap ($4 on eBay). I thought this might be a bit of an upgrade over that old mono screen and limited features. Iirc the stopwatch was a bit awkward too - and no timer function or alarm.
But since buying this Aldi one, I managed to get one of the $10 Anko smart watches from Kmart - I have no idea how reliable the tracking is and the app is awful, but for $10 it has a few useful features.

        • It has a stop watch, no countdown or alarm oddly, that I can see anyway.
The stop watch is a bit of a pain to you have to go into submenus to get to it.
So yeah maybe return if those features are important.
