Cheap media player for kids

Hi all,

I am looking to get a cheap media player of some variety for car journeys and long haul flights with the kids. It doesn't have to have a huge amount of storage internally if it will take an sd card, micro sd card or usb drive. Charge by usb is important so I can charge via the car charger and of course mains power when on long haul flights.

Multi format is also important as a lot of stuff on my nas is in either avi, mkv or dvd format.

I don't mind if it's a tablet or other dedicated unit but the advice of others on Ozbargain would be appreciated.

Wow, didn't realize you could get one that cheap these days, especially with MKV compatibility and such good screen resolution. Still, wondering if a cheap Android tablet would be a better option. They do, however, seem to struggle with MKVs and HD stuff.
