Free (Ad-Supported) Data-Only eSIM, 3GB Monthly 25+ Countries Coverage @ Seeek UK

3514

seeek.co gives out a free monthly Esim data only subscription which gets you 3GB of mobile data in Australia, New Zealand, Europe, USA and some more countries. I was a bit sceptical about this freebie, but signup for an account was easy, I didn't have to share creditcard details and am enjoying my free 3GB of data. See if it lasts.

Nada is free to you and paid for by our advertiser partners. By registering for a Nada eSIM, you agree to receive targeted advertisements from Seeek and our promotional partners in accordance with the plan’s terms and conditions. For more information please read Nada’s terms and conditions.

Careful if you use your real details to sign up.

    • im pretty sure my details are already pawned

    • +2

And I would use a VPN

    • Username sounds fishy🤭

    • The old adage "if you're not paying, you are the product" still stands

  • -2

Thank you for this addition. Indeed I used one of my lesser used e-mail addresses to subscribe.

  • how long does it take for the order to complete processing?

    • +4

      Website said

      Available on backorder

Deal from new poster. No post or comment history so most likely spam.

  • +4

Ok if you are happy with ads and what ever else they do with your data….hahum Facebook… anyway like a wise person tells me if you are not paying for the product then you are the product.

  • "Available on back order".

Curious though if you put in fake info to see if it is ok.. but knowing them, their "advertising" includes the hijacking of your network protocols to sneak through ads this way. Not sure if a VPN would even help in this matter..

  • +9

Colour me just a tad suspicious, new user and first deal, and from profile based overseas?

  • +4

Signed up. Never got email. Its on backorder. Its a scam

  • +1

Poster is from the netherlands, as stated in profile, Company is located in the UK based on the website.

  • +1

Data used during registration is one factor. When you use the esim/service that's another "touch point" for possible sniffing, maybe.

  • +5

Seems suss. Neg to warn other fellow Ozbers.

  • +1

Same here, no email after registration.

  • -1

    Seems legit

  • +2

You can't find any info about this company anywhere, highly likely to be a scam

  • +1

    SCAM !!!

  • No email 1 hr after signup, scam. First tjme post on a new account located overseas, bad sign

  • +2

Member since one day ago 😅

    Neg to warn others

  • -1

this is a scam - OP even they posted and thanked themselves.

  • +8

Yes, I am a new poster and yes I am from the Netherlands and yes this is the first time that I post a deal.

I have followed and used the esim deals on Ozbargain for quite some time and when I found the seeek deal I decided to sign up for an account and share this deal. It is no scam, signing up worked for me. With me it took some time to receive the esim too. Maybe they check it manually and it doesn't work in weekends, I don't know.

If this turns out to be a fishy deal I apologize. But as said, I am on their 3GB plan and it works fine.

    • How long did your order turned from processing to complete?

      • +1

        About an hour

  • I received the email for signing up but no eSIM yet. Will see.

  • +6

The sign up process was incredibly easy and I received the eSIM 2 hours later which seems to work fine.

It's FREE data. People on here can be ridiculously judgemental - I don't think half of them are quite as good at sniffing out scams as they seem to believe they are…

Obviously if you don't want them to be able to track your usage to provide targeted ads then it's not for you, but it's not a "scam" if they tell you upfront that's what they're doing. The commercial viability (i.e. how long they stay active) is to be seen, but given it's free, there's not much to lose.

    • -1

What's that saying? If they arn't charging you to use the product then you are the product. However with them allegedly being an advertising and promotions company you can't find any data on; this still has way too much of a scammy smell, even for me.

      • +3

Yes, I think everyone on here has heard that a million times… I really don't see why it needs to be pointed out - who on Earth could possibly think otherwise? Not to mention, they specifically state that the payment for getting this sim is by receiving targeted advertising.

Given they don't know my real name, address, contact details or payment details, it would be pretty difficult to pull of some kind of elaborate scam.

  • +1

I always wonder about the marketing potential of a free sim. If someone needs a free sim they are probably in a lower income bracket (eg student) so how much are they going to buy from the advertisers, who are the ones paying for it.

Don’t expect them to survive longer that the seed capital

  • interesting concept. don't think I would use unless in need for some emergency whilst overseas

  • +1

What network does it use? 50 countries do they use Optus Telstra Vodafone?

    Seems a littpe sus

And the terms say they will send you marketing

    • -1

In the Netherlands it connects to KPN and Vodafone, two major networks in my country. APN for the esim is drei.at . Drei is a major ISP in Austria.

  • +1

I still haven’t received esim after 8 hours.

  • -2

    Please do not sign up.

Reason is simple: it is not Australian company and not Australian website - so in the shop, what does $ mean? What currency is it? Apparently this website is designed to collect info.

    • The website loading says USD. It's the default currency when it's not Aussie unfortunately

    • For the free 3GB account currency shouldn't be a an issue as you don't pay anything.

  • +2

I was confused seeing Seek diversified from job search to esim 🤣

    It's not Seek, it's Seeek (pronounced Seh-eh-ehk)

OP - worth updating the title

  • -1

Shame it's an esim, this would have been great for my car stereo.

  • Is there a reason why there is still a referral code in the URL? After mod had previously removed it?

    • There is no referral there. The ?v I removed is actually something the site adds automatically.

  • +1

i dont need it until i travel overseas in a few months. If you sign up how long do they give you to activate the esim or what is the expiry on it?

    • +1

Once you sign up, the plan will renew every month for free. I still haven’t received esim after 12 hours and probably never will.

  • Nice deal. IMO if it's a scam, don't take the offer. If anyone experience anything bad report it. Surely that's the way I would see any deal. But that's just me. :)
Have a great day boys and girls! EDIT: Website says, Available on backorder.

    • Still waiting …..

  • is this 3gb free every month? if so its a good deal.

  • Looking for a cheap E Sim device to test this on, recommendations?

  • In their FAQ's;

"We unfortunately do not currently support smart watches (but aim to do so soon!)."

    • Got it working on my SGW

      • Good to hear. Hope it works well.
Site obviously needs to be updated.

      • Hey easternculture,

If you dont mind me asking, how do you setup this esim on your watch.

Do you activate the esim on your phone first?

        TIA

  • Thanks OP.

  • I signed up yesterday. no esim yet. (I did use a few fake bits of info signing up)

If it ends up legit that would be nice.. if not.. no worries then.

    • Its sunday in the UK. The office is closed. Esims should start being sent on Monday UK time

  • Registered last night. Still havnt received the e-sim

  • Anyone received theirs after ordering while it was on 'back order'?

    • not yet. i received an email saying processing. but no esim as yet.

  • +2

    Never received

Hi everyone, I'm Connor - the founder at Seeek.

Firstly, I just want to say thank you to all of those who have signed up! And a thank you to ajutrecht For sharing our SIM plan. For you who have got your Sims already, I hope everything is going great and for those still waiting, we hope to get to you real soon!

I decided to make a post here just to reply to some statements made here and answer some of the questions.

I understand some of the concerns here surrounding your data security and the taboo topic of advertising.

To clarify on the ad situation, for you guys (and girls) in Australia, at the time of writing we don't actually have any active advertisers in Oceania, it was meant more as a roaming destination type coverage use-case than domestic registrations (no problem with this, just not what we envisaged) and from a purely business standpoint - the timezones and huge distance makes business relationships difficult (we only have physical office presences across the UK, Amsterdam and Los Angeles) so you lucky people get a free and ad-free experience (at least for the foreseeable future). When we do run ads in your region, these are just based roughly of your profile (Male, Australia). We don't ever use your data or internet history to target you (in fact, we don't even log this data) - we only store the last used network, country and data usage (a numerical value in KB nothing more in order to track/cap plan usage). We just felt it was best to put the most blunt, honest call out immediately so you know exactly what your getting. Yes, this is free, but your personal data WILL be used - we try to minimise and generalise what we use, but those are still the facts and we didn't want to "undersell" it.

We use Telstra network and plan to add Vodafone in Q2 so our AI network switching also works for you too as currently Australia is not of our multi-network countries.

In terms of brand validity, we're brand new (launched 2024) with no VC or external commercial funding, we are supported by Google in infrastructure costs and the networks have been extremely helpful in regards to payment terms but this is a 100% self-sustaining business. The demand for Nada (our free plan), has been… Astronomical (thank you once again). Admittedly we don't have much in the form of trackable company history (because we don't have any!) And our online presence is still being built, we're also very closely named to the recruitment company (slight oversight there on our part) which makes ranking/finding out about us a bit more difficult, but we are a registered UK company using only Tier 1 carriers so we like to think that eases some concerns.

ETA's; realistically for anyone who orders now on backorder (or for reference, very shortly after this post went live) can expect ~2 week lead time (end of the month) but this could be much sooner, again, we just don't want to break promises here. It's really not what we want as frankly, the more users we can onboard, the more revenue we can generate which means more users (and so the cycle repeats) — but we were (unsurprisingly) hit by a large wave of abusive and fraudulent accounts, so working through the backlog has to be done manually for now and it's incredibly time consuming for our very small team. We are very sorry for the delays, but the network stability and security has to come first to ensure we can continue this great offer.

We're working on redeploying our automated fulfilment system that should be live soon, meaning instant delivery, there's just a few tweaks we have to solve re: fraud and abuse.

Regarding smart watches, there's a few reports of particular android watches working, but we can't reliably repeat this in the lab so for now, we're saying unsupported but it works for you, fabulous!

If you have any questions do feel free to post or reply here, I will be in and out occasionally and if you need any help with your network, we are now 24/7 via the live chat on our website.

Thanks all once again, hope to see you all soon!

    • +3

      Thanks for the update
A few things to prevent abuse

      • Deploy an address checker during signup
      • Use 2FA to verify mobile numbers during signup
      • Auto reject > 2 orders with same IP address or device ID that use different address

That should filter out 90% of fraudulent accounts

      • thanks for the feedback, yeah these are all on the list, we were toying with the idea of ID verification or CC verification but we're trying a combination of the above as well as checking the ISP and IP against known blacklists. We're also going to start filtering out VPN connections but again, not sure how best to do so at the moment, as not all VPN use is nefarious and using one shouldn't restrict your ability to join us.

    • Appreciate the update & transparency with everything.

but we were (unsurprisingly) hit by a large wave of abusive and fraudulent accounts, so working through the backlog has to be done manually for now and it's incredibly time consuming for our very small team.

I used a parcel locker for my signup address (to keep my residential address private), should I at all be concerned?

    • Having now seen this, this would probably address (almost?) all of the negs.. Thanks so much for sharing!

By the way, any plans to expand to cover more Asian countries?

      • +2

Thanks, transparency is very important to us so that feedback means a lot!
Yes, the plan is to eventually have full global coverage but this will take a while…
Next on the list is Canada which is launching very soon and then the primary focus is on boosting coverage in regions currently only being served by one network (Australia, NZ, Liechtenstein, Norway and Thailand) as we hope to have our 'AI switching' available in all regions.

In the background we are constantly working on adding new regions primarily in North America and Asia as several big countries are currently missing (Canada, Mexico, Japan, S Korea etc) but there is no reasonable ETA on these as partnerships take a very long time to go from proposal->active

The only market we have no immediate intent on entering is Africa and unfortunately this doesn't look like it will change anytime in the next 3-5 years.

    • How are the ads delivered? SMS, email, HTTP injection, something else?

      • +3

TLDR; SMS only, display ads for additional plans/services in the future. We don't use your phone number, email or sign you up to any external mailing lists.

Currently it's SMS only (technically, it works more like a push notification but this is just semantics) and we use the SIM's ICCID/MSISDN to directly communicate with you, we don't use your account phone number, email etc. We have to play a very fine line, with GDPR and all the other anti-spam rules it wouldn't be fair to force you into giving up data not related to our service and also, means opt-outs etc get 'blurry', sending SMS directly to our owned SIMs where severing your service immediately opts you out seemed like the best option. Your data only eSIMs also don't have 'phone numbers' assigned to them so it also builds our spam/scam protection as any messages you receive will be guaranteed to be from us as they can't spoof SMS shortcodes etc since theres no number to deliver this too, only our internal network can.

We are working on a 5G home broadband and MiFi style service that will use a built-in VPN that will divert all web traffic to our co-branded search engine when you launch your browser (Chrome/Safari) where we revenue split the ad revenue generated. These would display standard ads like you see already on Google/Bing/Brave Search.

We MAY also deploy this on the network as an additional plan where you get additional data but in exchange you receive additional ads.

The above points are just WIP so don't hold them as gospel and also, nothing will change with the current plans, they will remain 'SMS' only.

        • -1

We are working on a 5G home broadband and MiFi style service that will use a built-in VPN

If you plan on rolling it out in Australia, i would love to trial it

Still absolutely nothing. Seeeek is a scam

    • -2

Ive recieved 3 sims so far.

      • +1

When did you place your last order and when did you received your latest one? I placed an order on the 14th and I haven’t heard anything yet

  • Same here, ordered on 16th Jan, still nothing…

    • Same ordered 14 Jan. Radio silence from them. Even emailed them to check but no reply.

  • It seems that Seeek is giving out esims again, https://www.trustpilot.com/review/seeek.co . I would recommend contacting customer support if you don't hear anything, it will probably speed up things.

    • You are on the waitlist

You are number 3545 in the queue.

Pay $5 and jump the queue!

      Or pay $5.

      • That is an impressive queue… :-( Hopefully there's some progress in the near future. Once you get the esim it really is a nice freebie.

  • I’ve got the eSIM. Connected to the network showing 4 bars but no internet connection……

    • Enable data roaming for the Seeek eSIM.
      Not your personal sim card

      • Yes I’ve have LTE on the top right, but still can’t access internet.

    • Lucky you. I've gone backward in the queue. For the past few weeks, I was 68th. Today, I'm 69th in the queue.

      • -1

        69th
        Yummy number!

        • how do you check what number are you on the queue?

@bonechiller: Log into your account. It should be the first thing that pops up.
