3 Weeks of Group Fitness for $39 @ Fitstop

40

Fitstop sits between Crossfit and F45 in terms of seriousness of Group Fitness. For example, no Olympic lifting (Crossfit does), but a focus on bench, squats and deadlifts (F45 includes these major lifts, but doesnt focus on them).

All gym equipment is modern and clean.

This is an up-market group training only gym.

I recommend them… though they are expensive.

Current promotion until 21 January is three weeks for new or returning members for $39 ($13/week equivalent).

I presume price varies by location, but my local full price is $59/week, and one is seemingly able to possibly haggle down to $49/week.

I joined in early December. I like the style, and it is fine for even a lard-o like me. I can already see progress.

    • Yea, i went from not lifting at all to 10x80kg squats and 5x110kg deadlift in 6 weeks (lets not talk about my bench ;)).

Just need to work out how to keep my momentum going -> my second trial expires today, so I plan on signing up for the deal in the OP next week for a third "trial" :)

      • Nice. Been about 5 weeks for me.
I'm not there yet, I think last time I did 10x60kg squats and deadlifts. But I'm also not eating a lot of calories becuase my primary goal is to lose weight, due to being 140kg, (now at 132kg). So on average I'm eating about 2000 calories a day. I should probably up that, and maybe talk to a dietician.

  • Careful giving them your CC details. Had a Bad experience and they tried to charge me 3 times in free trial period ( lucky that I had my Online transactions locked. Every time they charged, had new excuses.

  • K.I.S.S look up strong lifts 5x5. Don’t need upmarket gym

    • Your paying for routine and commitment rather than equipment…. Usually.

This worked out well for me, being particularly lazy/unmotivated so I just wouldn't make use of a regular gym pass. It does seem to depend a lot on the quality of the trainers at your local though.

    • I have had a regular gym membership for ages, but never went. Tried Fitstop, once you book a class you kind of commit yourself to go, and when you get there you are motivated to put some effort in it because you are working out with a group.
