Hi All,

I'm looking to get a 10KW solar system. Not too fussed with having microinverters in the package as we have no shading issues and happy to have a string inverter. Looking for recommendations for reputable companies in the Sydney area as there seems like a tonne of bodies conpanies around. I've gone through SolarQuotes but have yet to hear back from the 2 local suppliers, so would also appreciate if any of you had recent rough estimates of quotes or paid packages within the past 12 months, just so I know where I stand with quotes coming through.

    solarquotes.com.au. Go through it again or look at the supplier list and contact them yourself.

    I personally have utilised Solar Run, specifically their franchise at Hoxton Park. Great experience and was well looked after. If you speak to them, the guy I dealt with was Shadi and he was great. Can't recommend them enough.

    Watch out for any conpany that is dishonest.

    I had my system supplied & installed by My Energy Group. I would not recommend them.

    The system itself seems fine. It works well but I have no idea about the quality of the install as it's 12 metres up.

    The negative is that the 4-8 week installation time took 5 months. During that time they ignored our requests for updates; their production planner told me several times that "its not my job" but couldn't tell me whose job it was; they tried to back out of the contract and various other issues.
    Also the "installation will take one day" turned into a 3 day epic where I was delving into my own hardware stash because the installer didn't have enough materials such as conduit and conduit saddles

    The delay in installation was because it wasn't an easy site to work on (they knew this) and none of there sub-contractors wanted to do the job as they were on a flat rate for installation and only wanted to do the simple jobs.

    My advice is to ask if your supplier uses in-house or sub-contract labour. If they use any sub-contractors then walk away.
