  • Bosch. Hands down. Better parts supply and IMO will last longer then the LG. With the LG, good luck getting parts in a few years, while the Bosch has a much better supply network. Not to mention that the Bosch washer is Made in Germany vs Korea/Indonesia for the LG

Second this. I've had a German made.bosch for over a year now… well worth the purchase. Prices must have jumped up since then, I got a 9kg series 8 for around $1200.

LG machines are fantastic and backed by a matching 10-year parts warranty. There's no reason to chuck away $1,300 extra you could spend elsewhere.

Heck, you could replace the LG machine entirely within 10 years and still be ahead.

      matching 10-year parts warranty

That's only on the brushless motor, which has about a zero percent chance of failing.

Same with the Bosch. It's a 10 year motor warranty guarantee.

I never said it wasn't? Was just correcting where you said it was a 10 year parts warranty, when it's actually only one part.

Based on our 12 month old Turkish made Bosch, I'm less inclined to recommend
Based on the previous Thai built Bosch that we had for 17 years, they are the bees knees
    .

The Bosch price would allow you to purchase Miele. Bosch service life is rated as 10 years; Miele 20.

I used to repair washing machines as a hobby. I'd recommend LG. I had one for 10 years (second hand - was already 8 years old) . would do multiple loads every week (3 young kids) and never let us down - until it died and was economically unviable to repair (powerboard).

I had way more Bosch machines (at least a dozen) to repair than LG (maybe 1).

I have a German built Bosch, it hasn’t skipped a beat. We broke a stabiliser during a move interstate, Bosch replaced this under warranty. Their website for spare parts is extensive and reasonably priced.

My LG is over 15 years old and still going strong. Would definitely buy another but hopefully won't need to for a long time yet.

I've had a bosch front loader for 10yrs and bought it from a mate who'd had it for 2yrs before moving in with his partner.

  • I have an LG that is about 13 years old now and is just starting to show signs of issues, so I'd be pretty happy to buy an LG again given the cost difference vs the perceived premium brands.

  • Regarding washing machine, I have a many years old Samsung and leaking, where to repair in Brisbane ? Or should I get a new LG… ?

    • My first Miele cost $2K and ran faultlessly for 31 years (4-person household), zero service attendances and still repairable. A similar model Miele in today's money is $1,500 retail ($1K ex-demo). With most other front-loaders averaging 12 years, choose your own pathway.

    • Lots of repair tutorials on YouTube, they are surprisingly simple and easy to fix.
Mostly hoses will split and leak.
The top comes off and you should be able to find the origin of the leak with a torch.
There are still appliance repair shops in most largish towns if you take the model number of the machine with you and the part or a photo.
Otherwise eBay or appliance repair sell part online aswell.
It really is to easy and hoses run $25 , if it ends up being a drain pump or leaky fitting it might run $100 more , but you haven’t lost anything popping the lid and having a look.
